The big problem Liverpool have is that they’re gonna have to replace Salah, VVD, Konate AND get some depth in MF at the end of this season and they’ve maxxxxed out their credit cards.

I have to say the more I think on it, it was a really weird window for them considering how they tend to nail transfer windows. Seems very short termist.
The funny thing is that they claim this summer was about the long term but if you play Ekitike and Isak together then you have to play one out of position so you've spent insane money to always be nerfing one of your marquee signings and still not fixed the holes you got away with having last season. Unless the idea is to flip Ekitike for a bit of profit and then use that to invest in actual wings after this season, idk what they were thinking.

So weird, because at the time everyone was jealous of their window. We definitely had the best transfer window (thank God, with all the injuries we keep getting!)

He might come good as a more traditional RB but the more time goes on, the more that Frimpong looks a bizarre signing. Can’t even try 3ATB because they have no CBs.

Frimpong and Kerkez would fit in well at United. Frimpong because of the system and Kerkez because he looks ****

Their simple problem is that they have no press. Salah has a free role and there defence bar VVD us sh1t. They lost 4 players basically and the players they bought play differently.

they do have a problem with that, and you have to wonder what the football director was thinking with the signings they make.
To get Isak and Ekitike is strange move. Ekitike is the better long term option,I almost see Isak as a vanity signing. Has he ever been considered a very good counter presser when he was in Newcastle? The little we saw of him at Dortmund didn’t scream pressing machine! Ekitike is younger and more versatile and will work hard for the team.

I really can’t see how Isak and Salah work, whoever else is in attack or playing as 10 with them will have to do 3 times the work. Szoboslai is an incredible presser, but he cannot do it alone.

Slot already doesn’t trust Frimpong at right back, this must be a worrying sign for him and the fans.

The Newcastle team was built for Isak. This Liverpool team waa built around Salah. Half that team is gone, if the cf and lw dont press then their structure is screwed, bad planning like you say. Time will tell but i think they over thought it.

Losing Diaz is a big issue for them. He was always a player who would run at defenders and he has an incredible engine,he will run up and down the wing all day, also contributed some big goals as well. And they did not sign a new winger, this is why the Isak and Ekitike thing is strange. Why not spend that Isak money or at least some,on natural winger. Ironic thing is, the fans turn on Alexandar Arnold, but they had it perfectly set up with him and Salah and having a deep laying midfielder able to cover for Salah’s lack of backtracking. Now a lot of that structure is gone, the balance is off. But of course, this is how the coach earn the big money, but getting it back working!

Isak doesn't press at all. They were talking about it on MOTD

This was such a blunder from Liverpool. And it doesnt help that Ekiteke the talent he is hit the ground running and actually looks better than Isak at start of the season. So you cant even play the; lets have Ekiteke as understudy for a while card.

I'd venture on to RAWK and take joy in their anguish. Pity I don't understand their language.

Here's a few

La = Young man or friend
Sound = decent
Bizzies = Police
ta ra = farewell
Scally = Thug
Blag = to verbally manipulate others
Made up - to feel euphoric
Scouse = Liverpool, which they also believe is it's own country

If they hadn't been messing about with Palace, they could have signed Guehi early in the window (he should have been a higher priority than Frimpong or Kirkez) and maybe even put us in the position where Eze wasn't even available. Just a very bizarre window from a usually well-functioning recruitment team.

I wasn't really as moved by Wirtz as others here when Liverpool where in talks to sign him, but must admit I didn't think he'd have been this poor.

I think fundamentally, players like him are just not part of Liverpool's DNA.

Electric forwards with workhorse midfielders is their bread and butter.

Depends how far you want to go back, the late 80s-90s had Barnes, Whelan, Houghton, Molby pulling the strings like puppet masters

Obviously Klopp loved his workhorses for his brand of football.

Not really sure what Slots philosophy was at Feyenord, or what his plan is with liverpool. Some say he was more possession oriented and controlling games, others say very similar to klopp.

What made them elite under klopp was their pressing game combined with lethal counters + the ability to create 10-20 minutes of high intensity chaos around the oppositions box when chasing games.
Often they were up two or three goals before the match really had begun, and could just 3rd gear through 2nd half.

Don't feel the squad really fit either style. Looking very ordinary when trying to create chances on their own, and way too easy to escape their press. What they do have is a lot of matchwinners, which is why they're only one point behind us.

if liverpool get conceded 3 goals then trent arnold can make liverpool comeback score 4 goals to win game because he is world class when comes to created chance

kounde and hakimi are the only player who can replace trent creativity
