Said it before but their transfer business is overhyped - their first 11 looks impressive but what have they got beyond that? Their squad depth is awful. Van Dijk and Konate unavailable and who’s playing CB - an injured Gomez and Andy Robertson? Same as attack, their only options are Chiesa, Doak and Elliot.
Unless they get very lucky with injuries this season again they’re going to struggle with that squad depth.

Yeah I’ve been saying all summer they don’t look that great, lots of hype.

I still think that their fortunes will largely be dependent on whether Salah can still produce elite numbers. Also if VvD or Gravenberch get any injury they are cooked.

I’d add Konate to that. VVD gets all the limelight but he’s a key part of that partnership with his ability to cover ground and bully forwards.

Just read Slot concerned about his defense and amount of goals his team conceding.

Yeah no s**t you have two center backs and no backup
The fact that Konate is constantly linked with Madrid, isn’t signing a new contract and Van Dijk is 34, yet they didn’t think a CB signing was a priority is wild.
They’ve currently only got 3 senior CBs and one of them (Gomez) is currently injured.

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆

I think they'll buy but thier team gonna concede so many goals but you won't notice that much because they have very clinical offense
