Agree with Carragher, Liverpool are a mess. They’ve taken a title winning squad, ripped it apart and went for huge money star names - what was the need for Isak & Ekitike??
Their new fullbacks are also, somehow, worse defensively than Trent
They’ve gutted their squad down to the bare minimum, and to top it off their starting CB (Konate) and back up LB (Robertson) could both sign pre contracts for other clubs in January.

Long may it continue. I am sick of these lucky ****s. On top of everything you mentioned , all their superstars are in a decline 33 + years old. Two more years of Van Dijk and Salah and they have to do a full rebuild. Especially Van Dijk. To me their whole defense falls apart without him and they will be lucky to finish in the CL spots.

Carra is what’s wrong with football media. He’s all about narratives. A week ago city and arsenal were way off city and less than 7 days Liverpool is not a great team cause they lost two games. Their level have been about the same all season. But when the margins goes their way he over praise them and when they don’t he goes hard to the other side
That is why Henry and Micah almost lost it during the show when Carragher claimed he talked to Slot after Bournemouth game to address some issues in the squad.

They were better off last season when they made no transfers.

This is why I hate the transfer window people treat transfers like they’re trophies before anyone has played.
I warned everybody this Liverpool super team is essentially PSG 2021/22 or Lakers 12-13

This!
Don’t get this “ you can’t judge a younger player so much when he’s new to the league “ etc.
He’s 22 and cost £110m, yes you ****ing can judge him! You don’t pay that hoping he might come good by Christmas, or even next season, that’s the money you pay for an instant game changer.
However he was rubbish at the end of last season with Leverkusen, but he’s somehow got worse. :shivering:
Especially when Liverpool fans were bragging so hard when he joined. I know a couple of Liverpool fans, personally, that said the league was over for everyone else, after they signed Wirtz and Isak. That view was also held by some fans of other clubs, too, btw.

All of a sudden they want us to accept that Wirtz is going to need time and that players cant be judged after 8 games? **** off!

I thought they would be much better frankly. I don’t think anyone foresaw Wirtz flopping and Isak having a difficult transition simultaneously. Plus their new fullbacks haven’t been anything special and look dodgy to me. Considering how many injuries we had at Anfield they were lucky yo best us. If their big signings continue to flop we could take league

The attack was easy to predict, they changed everything about it bar Salah who is getting older and Gakpo who wasn't exactly Mr consistent already. If anything the start caught them off guard, the consensus was always that it was going to struggle to settle with so many new faces.

It's the fullback thing that is the amusing part. They were always going to miss the cheatcode of TAA but to the point of deploying a midfielder there even with Bradley and Frimpong available was unexpected.

It's far too early to be writing them off or overly questioning the manager.

I think we'll win the PL but Liverpool are going to be a major threat still.

Salah will hit form at some point, Wirtz will likely settle and Isak will get properly fit.

I think they are vulnerable at back in particular at fullbacks which every pundit was saying would be their strength. Salah and VVD are both on down slope and while still quality not near level of recent past

nwaneri and dowman way better than wirtz this season so far, not even close
Wirtz transfer was being used as a pillar at the beginning of the summer by alot of no-nothing's on here. They quiet right now. Kai's clear of this oversized slow bum

found this in the reddit post about this:

Here are some more stats

Wirtz has created ZERO big chances in the Premier League this season. 112 players have created at least one. 9 in the Liverpool squad alone.

He is 63rd in the league in xAG so if he's creating a lot of chances they are not quality ones.

He doesn't even have the most key passes at Liverpool Squad. Gakpo has 11 he has 10. With 10 he is joint 14th most, Wharton, Porro and Tonali are the same as him.

Can’t find the all comps equivalent but the xG from Wirtz’s 10 chances in the Prem so far has been 0.7.

The xG from Grealish’s 17 in the Prem has been 2.4.

The xG from Mbeumo’s 12 has been 1.4.

The xG from Bruno’s 16 has been 1.6.

..................

Basically this stat is prime copium

Yousif Arsenal

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆
Wirtz been awful but again modern football sucks don't pay attention to what social media say.

He been with liverpool for two months no matter how much they paid but doesn't mean he don't need time if he stink for like few more months then liverpool fans can start get worried

Arsenal Quotes

I'm prepared to be committed to the club at least until we go into the new stadium. For me, it’s important that the club goes in there and that I make sure the team are at a very good level. After that, whether it’s me or someone else, the club will be able to compete at the highest level. But for me to run away now would not be fair.
