People have a hard time handling multiple things being true.

  • It's true that Salah has been scapegoated which is wrong.
  • It's true that Slot is a terrible manager and has probably handled benching Salah in a disrespectful manner.
  • It's true that the squad construction is a mess.
  • It's true that Salah has been dreadful this season and on merit probably doesn't deserve to start.
  • It's true that saying you don't need to earn a place is not the correct thing for any professional to say.
  • It's true that there's a double standard in the English media.
  • It's true that people like Jamie Carragher are cretins with an obvious bias.
  • It's true that Liverpool supporters are a uniquely hypocritical and awful fanbase.
The problem here is that far too many people only want to focus on some of the truths rather than acknowledge that all of these things can be and in fact are simultaneously true. The fact that the British media are vile doesn't negate where Salah was wrong just as the fact that Salah could have handled this better doesn't negate that the British media are vile.

We have to get to a place where we're not so limited in our thinking that we can't analyze a situation in its entirety. If you're correctly calling out the double standard in the media while making this statement, then you should be prepared for them to do what you say they're going to do just as you should realize the fanbase you play for is toxic and gross and be prepared for them to do what they always do too.

That's unfortunately reality and while I'm against the way Liverpool fans and the media conduct themselves, Salah has more than enough experience with both that he should have known how this was going to go for him. They're always looking for an excuse to have a go at certain players and if you hand them one then you've got to be prepared to deal with it.

very good point man and fully agree

most people failed to see the whole picture (whole problem), so because of that they paint salah in social media like a hero (after he made interview in public) when the fact salah also part of problem because his poor performance this season which is why liverpool had poor performance

so this is why i dont like when the moment salah moaning & criticize club in public because he also part of problem with his huge salary 400k per week did not equal with his performance right now, its like there is no shame self awareness from him

also one more thing, salah said "I've been thrown under the bus", lmao hahaha the irony of that when the fact he also thrown his club under the bus because he played poor this season

and now carra make even worst because he join into this problem which made football fans continue paint salah like a hero & at the same time football fans forget + amnesia that salah still part of the problem

To me I don't think anyone looks good in this situation. I can't stand Liverpool or their supporters so I don't really care at all about it affecting them as a club. I can't stand the British media either so I have no dog in the fight. I always call things the way I see them. Salah was the only one of those Liverpool players brave enough to defend Trent against the stupid abuse he was receiving and I gave him credit for that.

The thing I took issue with from the beginning is that you can't say publicly that you don't need to earn a place, particularly when you're playing terribly. This is disrespectful to the sport and that's disrespectful to everyone who gets up every day to do real work and doesn't get to rest on the laurels of their previous job performance. I found that to be an out of touch and gross thing to say.

I think it's unfortunate for Salah that he has now taken almost all of the heat off of a manager and recruiting department who are for more worthy of blame for the way their season is going than he is because he made a gross miscalculation in what effect his interview would have. VVD is also making out like a bandit here because he's been nearly as bad as Salah has yet now ironically he's created a self-fulfilling prophecy where if it wasn't before, now the entirety of the mess is being wrapped around his neck because of his desire to give this silly interview rather than handle things behind closed doors.

It's not about picking a side, I genuinely think all parties looks stupid here but I personally would not call the media arsonists and then hand them a match after I doused myself with petrol the way he looks to have here. He'd have been better off handling it privately and then engineering a move if that's what he wanted. He took a big swing and it doesn't appear to have worked out for him.

Tune down the racism accusations. Carra is an idiot for sure, but reacting to a players behaviour isn't necessarily racist. salah has been a fantastic player for them, but also a difficult personality to handle it seems.

Last season he was basically a poacher, getting extreme g & a numbers, but often a ghost outside of that and offered nothing defensivley. As a fan you notice these things. When you as a 33yo demand 350-400k a week to stay, and expect to be a starter no matter what, fans will react.

Its kind of similar to our situation with Özil and Alexis, even adebayor. They were also delivering fantastic numbers, but after a while you grow more and more frustrated by their lack of workrate(Özil/adabyor) and general behaviour. When the goals stop as well, you dont have much patience left for them.

funny to see all this support for salah considering the amount of **** our own players get in here.
Salah 's last 7-8 years of being their primary attacking thread has more credit in the bank th an 2 good years of Adebayor or 3-4 good years of Özil. He carried them to the title last year and now they've stopped giving hi m early service...meanwhile VVD is playing volleyball and is undroppable

Haaland is basically saying stfu, yet Carragher is such a dimwit with an inflated ego as (somehow) one of the prominent voices in the game now, he doesn’t understand and thinks he is the main character.

With Salah gone now the door for Semenyo taking that right wing spot has opened. This is definitely gonna happen

Arsenal Quotes

Robert Pirès was a fabulous player, world-class, and for a few years, before his injury, he was unquestionably the best left-midfielder in the world by far. He had incredible technique, he was smart, a finisher. He was a killer with a smile, the gentlest man in the world who suddenly drive the ball exactly where it was needed.
