I never understood how these racists get credit for accomplishments of people who were born in the same region by accident of birth. i think we dropped the interest when we signed Rice we have Partey and Jorginho who are DM signing another DM make no sense even tho Arteta love them but we clearly having problem in our left side midfield even Merino is not the answer long term.

Sure, but interest doesn't mean signing the player. The only time we've gone for him was in that January window from what I remember and he didn't want to leave Sociedad in the middle of the season. After that we targeted Rice instead.

The likely scenario is he's a player they like as a 6 but with Jorginho, Partey and Rice being able to play there they'd rather sign a left 8 now. We probably would've gone for him next summer when Partey and possibly Jorginho would leave.

I think his chances died as soon as partey decided to stay and he is way too similar to Jorginho. If they insist on the release clause it’s extremely difficult to drop 51 million pound on the drop

This is my thought too, Zubi is a huge chunk of the budget if you have to pay 51m upfront that probably stops us signing a forward/winger.

About Jones I think he good midfielder but not getting enough chances at Liverpool he good passer can create chances with Arteta he can make him some box to box midfielder
