Liverpool have done very well here. They'll get one more good season from him and then flock him to saudi league for 150M and buy someone like Isak in summer 26.

Good for us - don't think he will continue like he has this year. Surely won't be signing Isak now.... Right?

This. I actually prefer him to stay. Will be 33 before the start of next season. Father time waits for no one. He will be off to AFCON in the middle of the season as well as the World Cup at the end of it.
He might drop off, but right now he's the best player in the PL. So there's nothing to suggest he won't be a great player for them next year.

Losing him would definitely be better for us next year, especially if they lose him for nothing. Maybe long term it could be a problem if they aren't changing things now but this is still in the future.

Didn't think of that - yes if they do that then its very smart....selling what could be a declining sporting icon in the middle east to fund a top class player at his peak.

Would have preferred to see him gone but can't help it. We need to be ruthless this summer and be disciplined come next season. League will be there for the taking and I bet Pool will not even be Top 3 next year.

Think he'll experience a sharp drop off at some point, maybe not immediately next season but soon. Complete freak fitness wise, can't go on forever like this.

I think he's made a mistake personally, always surprises me how little pro athletes care about legacy. Fans have very short term memory.

First half of the season Mo and second half are not the same and it will only get worse.

See it all the time in sports, look how Ali or Jones retired way too late. The same stubbornness that makes you great is the same thing that keeps you going long after you're washed.

Anyway he's extracting maximum pay out of them for two more years so good on him.

Yeah, physically he’s a machine. It’s only a 2 year extension. Only injuries will really slow him down.
I think we can handle him anyway, hopefully they think what they did this year is enough going forward. I would feel confident in this.

League is very weak

We have a big summer coming. We lost the league this season because Arteta has messed up the last few transfer windows. This Liverpool side is rubbish.

Salah at 50% is still a top PL player tbf so it’s a fair deal for them. I read that he turned down crazy money from the Saudis to stay with Pool which is some serious loyalty. They are prob gonna be paying him 20m a season for the next couple of years which really isn’t that bad given his profile and I imagine his commercial appeal will help to cover some of that. Hope he falls off a massive cliff now cant be having their legends not only showing loyalty but continuing to deliver the goods.

I think he'll still be a very good player for two more years. But I don't think he can keep carrying their attack the ways he has. His game is so much about speed and athleticism. As soon as he loses a step, he won't be able to dominate anymore. And he seems like someone who's easily frustrated, so we'll see if he'll even be able to adapt when necessary.
He's signed a new contract now and they'll win the title this year. So next season some of that drive and determination will be gone, as well.

I think this news could also be an indication that both of them were given assurances that reinforcements will be brought in.

With their PL title almost wrapped up 😤, they could improve dramatically if they land (their rumoured target) Isak by selling Nunez (and/or Diaz).

Think he’ll remain deadly in the box for a couple years at least, what they’ll need to do is rely on him less and less to create his own chances and for others. You already see how the super athletic Nuno Mendes shut him down, soon that will be pretty much any decent fullback.

Finishing is the hardest thing to do though and they’ve got two more years of someone who can do that better than anyone in this league. Up to them to build the team around him and make the contract worth it.
