I didn't think he was good either. Was quite poor - although he was doing a lot of vertical movement which isn't really a strong feature of his.

Kante has had a similar situation playing infront of Jorginho under Sarri & Lampard that could even be in Emerys thinking.

Player vs player Kante has played the position to an elite level but even just on tangibles still has 5+kgs, strength & speed on Lucas.

Its reported that the recruitment team convinced him to sign their man with stats.

Personally dont feel you can put a midfield together through stats & ours kind of looks like it is! Just like at CB partnerships & balance are key.
