Man Utd v Chelsea

How can 2nd vs. 3rd be the biggest game of the season? We're more interested in who finishes first and at the moment that is us.

But match previews like this always say it's the biggest game. When we play Chelsea or Man utd again they will be saying that's the biggest game, so just ignore it really.

yeah, read that. that same guy did an article about how chelsea has become the neutral's team. he obviously loves chelsea and would like to see them break the duopoly in the priemership. its just wishful thinking on his part to suggest that it is the biggest game of the season

Re: game tonight
I hate Chelsea- they haven't done us a favour by beating Utd today. People say they will slip up- well I'm still waiting. Ok so they are winning by the odd goal, but that's irrelevant. Many here seem to think that Chelsea will find it a struggle come spring time, when the pressure is on to maintain their lead (i'm assuming they're gonna be up there) but with the quality of players they've got, they're always going to salvage three points. Quality always come through.

Boo hoo.

I am not convinced they have the mental quality and drive that the other 2 teams have. When there is heat in the kitchen, they will get out.

United looked really poor today. Its obvious their missing Beckham. They were so blunt in attack. They looked very lacking in ideas.

They are missing Scholes and Solskjaer dearly. Especially Scholes who gives them a midfield goal threat. Wes Brown is also a good player for them at the back. It allows Silvestre to go back to LB and gives them a more solid back four.

to play fortune left and giggs right is really a silly move,if ronaldo play, think it will be a different story, cos man u only starting playing the game very late in the second half after ronaldo came on.

ronaldo didn't do much really. just pranced around a lot. united were missing scholes and solskjaer... however those are only two men. i would assume that a championship caliber team would have suitable cover for such loss (*cough* like another team who has lost some 6 starters and managed not lose yet *cough*). alas... if that was their excuse for losing they better start digging into their pockets for solutions and fast.

chelsea are the strongest team on paper. even then we are still head and shoulders with them. on goals for we are level at 28 goals apiece. they just lead by one point and we have conceded one more goal. thats it. if its all about consistency... i hope people do realize that we have still been quite consistent in the prem. if it is easy to assume that we will drop matches some time in the season, i dont see why its ludicrous to think that chelsea will too. right now its too early to call anything. but what is obvious is that chelsea has had its time to gel, united are beginning to feel the loss of some personnel and we... well we're just getting back to decent form and are expecting the return of some of our most important players.

make of that what you will.

to be frank it was more of the loss of Scholes and Ole more then anything..can't really say we're missing Becks.I would have been the 1st one to admit it..but certainly not. What we tried doing yesterday was to grind out a result like we did at Anfield. The goal we conceeded was a very silly goal to give away(highly arguable decision..even after watching the reply 100 times..i still can't decide wether or not it was a penalty.well..some of those go your way ..some of them don't..hopefully should even out through out the season and can't blame the ref giving that pen to the home team)...I thought we didn't defend too badly..but the problem arose from the front..we really didn't get the creativity we needed and in huge games like this also one needed a bit of a break which we really didn't get.but otherwise we never really deserved to win..a point wouldn't have been all that bad..but oh well..no excuses really.was one of those games which could have really gone either way and this time it went to Chelsea.no excuses really.

An honest manc, I don't believe it

I couldn't believe the lack of creativity in your team. You started with 3 defensive midfielders though. Think Fergie wanted to keep it tight and nick a goal. When they scored those plans were thrown out of the window.

Giggs is very good upfront or on the left, why on earth was he played on the right? You really missed ole and Scholes yesterday and it showed.

couldn't agree with you more..But then who would play on the right?..Ronaldo and Fletcher were too in-experienced for such a game..and this was a decision yet again which could have worked in our favour...(Anfield ..ryan gets a double from the right wing)..but didn't really..Scholes really is one of our most vital players and we are missing him..no question about that..Ole as well can provide us with that additional width...and both are out..though after them both come back our side really has a different outlook...with a midfield of Ryan,Scholes,Keano,Ole/Ronaldo...it does look formidable...for some reason or the other our early stages of the season always get us injuries and the title run in start basically around Christmas time .(till then we try to grind out results and stay in contention)..that's when we step up a gear..now don't ask me why as i don't think anyone has really figured that out... ..but after all we are United we never do things the easy we now do we..

I have a question about Chelsea:
Why do Chelsea always win 1-0 or 2-1? The exceptions are 5-0 with 10-men Newcastle and 0-5 with a-lot-of-goals-received Wolves. If they say that they are the greatest team in England (oh, boys, Arsenal is the greatest team in England) they must win 5-0 all their matches. I hate them.

I don't remember where I read it, but Roman said that. And Arsenal don't say that they are the greatest team in England, so they don't have to win their matches 5-0. I think that they are the greatest team.

Arsenal Quotes

The coach's role is to make the player understand everything that serves the interest of the game. To do this he must speak to the child within each player, to the adolescent he was and the adult he is now. Too often a coach tends only to speak to the adult, issuing commands for performance, for victory, for reflection, to the detriment of the child who is playing for pleasure, living in the present.
