Mancheater City: Head Scratching Form

Not sure about that at all. City has an army of lawyers ready to fight this for decades if needed. They will also put pressure on the UK government and that will most likely seal the deal. As much as I hate it I am not sure much will come out of this. With everything going to hell in a hand basket for the UK I think they will bend over as much as they can for some oil state funding.
They sound like gangsters when you put it like that.

I think a points deduction is very likely. It wont be retrospective, but it would also keep them honest in the future and stop them from all the dodgy dealings they presently use to give themselves an advantage. Via all these UAE businesses, City's crown prince owner clearly funnels money from the UAE treasury into the City coffers, and its dressed up as legitimate under the guidance of 'sponsorship'. They have so much sponsorship money they made a profit and reported increased revenue in the covid year even though like everyone else they had no matchday revenue. This defies the physics of football economics as every other club in the world recorded less revenue and recorded a loss. Although you will find a few City fans who think they are just a 'well run club'. This Khaldoon guy is either the world's greatest executive, or, he is committing a fraud on the premier league.

The Premier League cannot let them get away with it.

The only club to stop them were Klopp's Pool during the weird ass COVID era.

They have won 4 of the last 5 titles and now have bought a striker that broke the record for goals scored in his first season.

They have been cooking the books for the longest time but because the FA are absolute ***** they want shady billionaire funding in the Prem so there won't be any kind of penalty on them.

Yes we should have beat Soton and West ham and hung on vs Liverpool but competing against these guys there is literally 0 room for error.

Give arteta a unlimited check book and we'd have a chance. The reason why they're so strong at the end of the season isn't because they're more mentally stronger, they've lost plenty of big games in the CL, when it mattered.

The difference in the PL is that their player quality and depth is so strong that they have the ability to rotate and not fatigue players.

They could lose 3-4 starting players and still not be affected, because they have the likes of foden, Mahrez, Alvarez, Laporte and Walker to come in. They'd be starting in most top teams around Europe. For perspective their bench warmers in zinny and jesus, became amongst our best players.

They will bottle it against a proper European giant and will be shown up for the fake phoney club that they are.

Everton will then do them and they will then drop points against Brighton and Chelsea.
Pep seems to be avoiding going galaxy brain in these big matches now although all Carlo has to do is give a ' 🤨' When they are 2-0 down to complete a 2-3 comeback by Real Madrid.

Crazy how the thread about Manchester City investigation thread has been removed from the forum. I wonder how much Arsenal-mania is getting paid.

Think he's got a few of the times wrong tbf, I think QPR didn't know they were safe until added time but I definitely remember QPR players basically not trying and let City have the ball at 2-2 with the QPR fans already celebrating.

I dont mind Man City. Cant stand Pep though. One of the most privileged managers ever. Inherited the great Barcelona team, then went to Bayern the one team league, and now at City enjoying official and unofficial financial backing on a scale no one has ever seen before, and yet he is held up as some sort of messiah when he has never known struggle or what its like to have to punch up. On top of that his tenure at Barcelona spanned the entire time Barcelona are alleged to have made payments to refs, and his entire tenure at City spans the time frames they have been accused of fraud and cheating the FPP parameters.

This guy is the Lance Armstrong of football. Wherever he goes there are strong allegations of rigging and cheating, combined with the fact he enjoys more resources than his rivals, and of course he would be a dominant manager. Who else would win but for the guy who spends the most and has his club acting like a crime family shifting the odds in his team's favour by nefarious means.

If not for the ability to outspend his rivals on multiples, he wouldn't have beat out Klopp, who actually has struggled and had to punch up.

Where does Gundogan rank in the list of great City midfielders then?

I think there’s an argument to be made that he’s cleared David Silva now. The guy has been so instrumental in this 3 peat.
