Funny how people suddenly have an issue with Man City's spending now, even though people on this forum were defending them against you for years. Yeah. The trouble is critical thinking takes some effort. You tell people foreigners are causing all their woes, then supporting Reform is a lot easier than finding out exactly why everything is broken.
It's why Iaugh at being treated like a contrarian on here. People think I'm 'trolling' but they don't realise how much they just parrott things they hear other people say, I get shocked at how little people think for themselves even when the evidence is infront of them.

By the way we had a ton of cash rotting in the bank by the end of Wenger's tenure that could have been spent to boost our squad cost ... instead we artificiallt kept our squad cost low and let inflation erode all of the value
I wonder what role Wenger had in that decision because, if not, he must have at least sensed that he was being framed as guilty by association for not spending the money

In my book, the idea that Arsenal haven’t caught up to the spending at the very top of the league is as valid now as it was then. We’re closer to a title now we’re closer in spending, but the missed outcomes are still the same as they were 04 to 2019. Unlike you I’m not blaming Wenger or Arteta. Against the might of City, Arteta’s done as well as might be expected. Both superb managers.
