Newcastle shouldnt be sympathetic. It appears they are playing by the rules. They must be frustrated they cant immediatley move themselves to the upper echolens of clubs in the way City did. Sounds like they might have to sell players ffs.
This is such a great point btw

Its just hilarious to this day that City reported having a profit in 2020-21 (COVID) in a period where every single other club reported big losses

I can make a bold prediction that City will cease to exist within the next 10 years.

Roman gave Chelsea a ton of money to spend, but at the very least he isn't a complete idiot and there are limits to what he is willing to spend. City on the other hand gave out >100k salary like water and have become free targets for muggers. The amount of business acumen shown by the arabs is laughable, look at how they had the chance to sell Tevez for €40m at the start of the season and now he's AWOL in Argentina due to the utter lack of respect they have shown him. And I am willing to bet that no one will want to buy him in Jan after the entire fiasco. The arabs are rich but even they have their own agenda and there will be a limit to how much money they are willing to pour into the club.

99% confident we will be cleared can’t wait for this to be over though like a cloud hanging over are head for so long
Yeah must be awful to have the cheating that you definitely did hanging over you. I'm sure OJ was really depressed to have the whole killing his ex wife thing that he also definitely did hanging over him.

They don't have the balls to do anything.. At best its a transfer ban with a fine that would be paid within seconds
On the other hand, the Premier League needs a warning example. Otherwise, City will continue their spending spree and Newcastle will be next. In the long run it would be the undoing of the Premier League and I think they certainly know that.

The only punishment I would agree is if the runners up of the Premier League last 2 seasons are gifted of City's titles, don't even relegate them

In all honesty, reason I'm confident nothing will happen cause the PL is going to use the 2006 Calciopoli scandal where the Serie A fell off big time, they're worried they might suffer the same fate if City were to be punished

Yeah, but the PL was comfortably the biggest league in the world before City. We all knew Pep would dominate the league for years, but the owners should have progressively built the club up rather than financially doping their way to the top. As much as I loathe United, there's no way their recent dominance has seen City overtake them on commercial revenue. United is one of the biggest clubs of all time, whether we like it or not.

Im confused. What is there to prove? City have already admitted to the crimes? Their defense was that they had to cheat because the rules were unfair.
There is a lot to prove. The implication of the leaked emails is that City not only deliberately broke the rules, but also repeatedly and intentionally arranged for said rule breaking to be covered up.

They haven't even admitted to obstructing the investigation, despite refusing to hand over information that every club is obliged to.

relegating the biggest club in the country by a country mile is much more impactful to doing the same to the new kids on the block, who have had zero impact on the popularity of the league, and if anything, whose dominance is undermining that popularity.

I was at the cricket last week at a corporate do and met another lawyer who is connected with the FA - it’s obviously not the FA’s case but the feedback he got from the dude was that they expect City to be pretty much screwed and quite likely (in effect) relegated, unless their collateral arbitration, held a couple of months back challenging the fairness of the underlying rules, is successful. Fyi most lawyers (and logical people) I’ve spoken to think that is quite unlikely as City happily signed up to the rules at the time. Also, I told you months ago that the main arbitration was starting in September/October…😁 I’d logically expect the result of the collateral arbitration to be revealed before then, of course.
