Manchester City’s Financial Doping

Yeah, but the PL was comfortably the biggest league in the world before City. We all knew Pep would dominate the league for years, but the owners should have progressively built the club up rather than financially doping their way to the top. As much as I loathe United, there's no way their recent dominance has seen City overtake them on commercial revenue. United is one of the biggest clubs of all time, whether we like it or not.
Well said mate, if the PL are sane they will punish those cheats

As much as I hate Chelsea, at least they were a decent team under Ken Bates in the late 90s. They never challenged for the league but at least they were always a top 4-5 team and would win the FA Cup/Carling Cup. City were playing third tier football the year United won the treble ffs

Come on, guys. Let's try to stay positive. Maybe they'll force Abu Dhabi to sell the club as a warning to the Saudis that sportwashing isn't going to fly in this country.

Then City will come tumbling down like a house of cards as they get relegated to League Two obscurity where they belong with their glory supporters and the Gallaghers reform Oasis and produce a hit song commemorating...I mean commiserating with the fans over the injustice of it all.

The tyranny of the majority shall overcome the tyranny of a large family hoovering up sovereign wealth whilst leaving their people in poverty.

@Beany September to May seems short considering list of charges and inclusion of appeal doesn't it? Not that I mind obviously but would've thought City manage to stretch that.

Pessimist in me says nine months is way too short to decide over the potential shutdown of a billion pound organisation and they haven't planned more time in because the outcome is already written.

Yes - i understand the arbitration was listed for 8-10 weeks (let’s assume 10 so it will end around the end of November - panel will then retire to consider outcome).

That will take a good amount of time for sure but I can’t see why it wouldn’t produce a judgment before May - that won’t stop City mounting an appeal, but fyi appeals from Arbitration panels are generally tough to win (especially as here when there is no right of appeal to the Court of Arbitratiion for Sport) just to the UK court system - which won’t set it aside essentially unless obviously wrong and/or bias.

Arbitration is designed to avoid Court so to run parallel not beholding to that system.

If City get away with a simple point deduction and transfer ban it will basically send the message that cheating in this league is worth it.
Let's face it, City could get a 20 point deduction and would probably still qualify for the Champions League...
