Manchester City’s Financial Doping

The problem is nobody cares until they are 2nd place to City then they want to cry and call it cheating.

Wenger was screaming about this when they were doing it in our faces but it largely fell on deaf ears, protests and banners.

I don’t have much sympathy because of this as I feel like Arsenal could have made up the points deficit with slightly better decisions and spending in recent seasons.

We didn’t have to buy Ramsdale who turned out to be largely pointless, or wait 6 months for Havertz to stop trolling but a lot of fans like to absolve the club of any accountability.
Last two seasons were impressive and we can't complain too much tbh considering where we came from. It is annoying we move in the transfer window in a way your average Joe can tell you isn't optimal though...

This season I don't think we can cry about City for us not winning anything when we're blatantly short in areas and waiting for next summer to sort it because reasons.

As for nobody caring, I think in the online bubble people do but your normal fan is barely aware of the charges from what I can tell. I think the only way they were going to see true punishment is the fans threatening the league image with protests and such but that ship has sailed.

People just focus on the title etc, but look over the time period how many teams have missed out on European football or been relegated by 1-2 points and all the financial consequences that come with that after having points taken off the by Man City th that particular season.

If they're found guilty to a significant degree then the whole PL has been a sham over that period and even now, because the foundations the current Man City are built on are fraudulent.

You can't rob a bank, buy a mansion with the proceeds, get caught for the robbery but still think the mansion is legitimately yours.

You dont know that. You havent read all the relevant documents or heard all the relevant arguments. And you are not a legal expert.
Yeah, this guy has been insisting 115 are biblically ****ed for ages. The fact he says this in a pretty eloquent and persuasive way doesn’t make him right, or credible.

FWIW the general consensus in the sports law community is that they will go down for something pretty big but tbh, speculation is pretty pointless as with all legal matters, on the basis there is at least a 20% chance you lose a “sure thing” let alone a case as complex and hard fought as this one.

PL has the perfect chance to get rid of this disgusting club who offers nothing of value to league but ruin the fun for real fans who watch it. City who make shelter companies to boost their own merchantries

Pep is right. Every decent person wants to get rid of thia disgusting club.

Yeah, curious to see if we see the titles being stripped and compensation being paid to injured parties.

The PL is in a situation where they'll decide whether restoring integrity or pretending integrity is already in place is in the greater interest of the league. The way they've been pushing for it makes me think they've decided it's the former.

In all seriousness I’m not sure where some of the energy in this thread is coming from.

The PL obviously wants City to burn or they wouldn’t have taken it this far. If they wanted to throw the towel in they have had a million opportunities to do so.

It’s a good thing PGMOL have no say in the matter though…

I understand what you mean, but at the same time, it's interesting that the Premier League allows referees who belong to PGMOL to officiate matches in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Does PGMOL have that much power over the Premier League? Why's this allowed?

I don’t think it’s that simple. I don’t know if the PL have the power to prevent refs from going overseas when they have free time even if they wanted to. Would be a bit like if you told your whore you wanted to be exclusive. It’s just not in the contract.

And yes, the use of whore to refer to referees was very very deliberate.
