Daily Mail journalist Mike Keegan claims Man City 'appear to have scored a victory over the Premier League on associated party transactions (APT)'.

Doesn’t mean a complete victory - they seem to be reading heavily between lines here but we’ll see…

Edit - the delay in approving the revised rules is clearly due to the parties having seen the embargoed draft judgment which clearly means the PL don’t have it all their own way “on the nod” - and figuring out what it means - but it doesn’t mean 115 have “won” and perhaps both sides will claim this…

Seems like City PR trying to spin a little win into something more meaningful.

Nothing I’ve heard from various sources suggests that 115 are walking away from this but rest assured, when I hear anything so will you… but tbh the whole process is so secretive that the chances of hearing much that’s genuine till it’s over are limited…

It’s not really a “win” for City is it - just seems like a technicality around unequal treatment of debt vs equity support which the PL will remedy? (To our detriment btw, we will have to refinance the very low interest £250m we owe Stan I assume)

I guess the real issue here is whether City can claim in the actual trial whether they could have been expected to adhere to a rule that has subsequently been found to not apply? I don’t know enough about how the law works to know if that’s a valid argument. Enlighten me @Beany
