• To all AM members and guests.

For the start of the new season, Arsenal Mania has relaunched the news side of the site. All articles are written by genuine Arsenal fans with no hidden agenda. You can visit the site via the menu at the top of the forum pages or go direct to our homepage

Additionally, Arsenal Mania is now sending all its registered members a bi-weekly Briefing Bulletin containing a digest of news and views from both parts of the site. Some of you may have already received the first edition and those that haven't should do so before the big kick off against United. If you are a guest visitor to this forum then if you join as a member, you will automatically receive the Bulletin.

Please support both these initiatives and help ensure the long term future of our site.

Someone needs to look into Martin Samuel btw, writes for the Telegraph now, previous to that the Daily Mail.

Literally within 10 minutes of the recent announcement he was putting a puff piece fully exonerating Man City and slamming the PL, he's been obnoxiously backing them since the owners took over at Man City too, backing them to a ridiculous degree.

Something weird ( 🤑) is going on there I think.

I think its obvious by now that City are funneling money into the media in hope to control the public opinion of them on and off field.

Would that be illegal though?

@Beany @db10_therza are things about to get very busy for you guys in next few years?
Bit of a storm in a teacup - albeit this analogous to how UEFA ****ed up under their own (separate) rules, if you recall.

Here, there is an argument that the limitation act could bar a claim brought more than 6 years post “knowledge” though there can be arguments as to what constitutes knowledge. Clubs may feel safer issuing by reference to the earliest possible date. They can issue a simple claim form which will buy them 4 months to fully particularise or serve, then immediately apply for a stay pending the outcome of the 115. In short it’s not a huge deal but they will want to be safe rather than sorry given we know City will take literally any technical point.

This is exactly right - that was an abortion of a piece of journalism - completely and wholly inaccurate/lacking all nuance and context. Frankly the Times (that was where the article appeared) should be embarrassed.

I've heard rumours his son works for the City group so maybe that's where it's coming from.

His bias is brazen though.

The athletic say that a decision regarding the 115 will be made before the end of this year....

Sounds like bad news to me

Usually nipping something in the bud that quickly means there's unequivocal evidence. Depends on the sanctions now.

Any form of point deduction means we have such an enormous chance to win the league this year. But really they need to be relegated. Bringing in Hugo Viana could also indicate the need for rebuilding.

May have a scenario where they're deducted so many points that it leads to relegation.

Could be a number of reason. Perhaps they struck a deal

If they made a deal would there then be a need for decision from the panel?
If they admitted to some of the charges but not all, sure. I mean you could be right that it was a clean sweep and the evidence is damning. I'm not a positive though as money rarely loses in legal battles.

Some are suggesting the decision is moved forward because of diplomatic concerns from the government but it's all just noise at this point. Can't wait for it to be over with.

This makes the most sense. Both parties has too much to lose. The PL has lost last 2 cases and would look like a joke if they lost this. City can’t afford to lose either. I can see huge fine and 25-30 point deduction and both shake hands on that and just move on

All I'm asking for is an * against every trophy that Pep has got at City. Will drive him utterly mad

I actually think this could be done. Pretty much the case for Liverpool and Arsenal fans already but it would be interesting to get it rubber stamped somehow.
