Chimps 03, Urm, this is the general football section, and we are generally discussing issues in football. Rio's fate is one of them. I personally hope he never plays again because he is a nasty little rude boy who thinks he's come somewhere.

alexone234..can you please justify your comments about rio being a "nasty little rude boy who think he's come somwhere"...your reason of that opinion about him?!

He probably came on ruuds face

fnnuur fnnur...

Seriously, I think he epitomises the perception of a certain type of arrogant, nasty footballer.

Wise, Savage, Bowyer, half the Chelsea team; that sort of thing.

Perhaps he's the Cheryl Tweedy of the football world.

Hey, ask Alexone not me.

I just believe that Rio exudes a smugness that, say, Roy Keane or even Beckham (who really is loaded) never have. It's not a critisism of Manure, per se.

Most clubs have a few.

Manure just have a few more than most!

smugness?!...fair enough...your opinion..

O.K. specifics.

Look at the current drugs bust.

We all know Rio isn't really on drugs.

But he thought the rules didn't apply to him. So he gave it a miss cos he was on medication & he was concerned that might have contained something dodgy.

Smug.

I saw a report in the paper last weekend that the man from the Guardian saw him get involved (and abusive) in a road rage incident on a roundabout with some member of the public who had the te,merity to assume that footballers have to cede right of way.

Smug.

The word is..

As with he Fergie quotes i've seen it all over the press; respected sources and journalists. No Harry bloody Harris.

It's analagous with Fungies fixing allegations; you Manure fans all denied he said what he said but he did. At least the FA want a proper explanation although it looks like a quiet apology will suffice.

Apparently, when you are randomly chosen to be drug tested, the officials escort you and stick with you all the time until the drug test is complete. Somehow, Rio escaped them, whether through forgetfulness or not. The issue is that he missed a drug test and that is a serious offence, whatever the explanation. Its like playing truant from school-you can't get away with it, whether it was intentional or not. I do not think he will be banned for more than 6 months though and you can do without him-imo O shea is better.

exactly...but the official's didn't really do their job well..and it's quite shocking when the Man City player commited the same serious offence last year not a word was spoken..

Thats life tho. The big clubs and big players are always made examples of. It has happened to Arsenal and Man Utd for ages. The officials must have done something wrong, you are right. Do you agree with me bout not missing rio too much?

not really in this moment of time cause we need rio..his performances have improved drastically from the game at Maine Road last season..and now with the lay-off to wesley brown..we have no one else really to play in that position unless we play the back four with Gary,O'shea,Mikael,Quinton
