Iv said all along hes coming, he would be at Liverpool already if we wernt in for him. I dont think he wants to go up north.

If you think about he can play here with loads of London lads including his ex teammate Eze. He doesn't have to move, he gets to stay in London. It's all way more easier and comfortable for him than moving up north or overseas. Those things could happen, but we're well placed to pick up London based players right now

Guehi is currently a starter for England, it’s a massive gamble signing for a club that has 2 of the world’s best 5 players in your position, plus great depth.

Unless we are planning on changing formation or selling Saliba or Gabriel, he will likely end up being injury cover who plays in domestic cups and CL dead rubbers. He starts for any of the other big clubs in for him. I think this is a tough negotiation for us if he has true ambition.

Who is going to start over Guehi at central defense for England? Fred Flinstone Maguire?

This is the best strategy from Berta if he can do it
So do they think if City don’t buy Guehi they won’t buy another CB? It’s really stupid idea because that’s what Chelsea did to us with Mudryk only for us to move to Trossard. Buying players you don’t need to prevent others is stupid approach. Specially for a club that’s not good at selling

That’s the whole strategy that I alluded to a few weeks ago. You shouldn’t ever allow your direct rivals to strengthen with a top 5 players in his position (in the PL) on a free.

If Elliot Anderson, Bruno G, Tonali, Isak at Newcastle etc became available with 6 months remaining and City were in dire need of that position then I’d want Berta to jeopardise their move. Let them gamble and spend 50 or 60m on a CB from some other league. They’ve already done so in Victor Reis (€37m) and Khusanov (€40m) which hasn’t really worked out like they expected, even Gvardiol (€90m) looks better as a LB drifting further forward than at CB.

Guehi is quality and the best PL defender on the market with huge amount of experience and leadership. Little doubt he will slot in straight away and make that City defense very stable again.

Don’t think there’s another defender on the market that can make as strong of an immediate impact like Guehi can. It could make the difference for our title challenge to prevent him going there.

I found both Guehi and his team mate Wharton extremely overrated. He also plays in back 5 which helps him out a lot

We already have 7 CBs at the club. Like how many do you need

wharton is overrated because ghosting in second half in most games (always look tired & exhausted), average when off the ball, anderson better than him
