He'll have been given a Marseille kit & open ended one-way ticket on the side just in case his initial meeting with Tets goes just how we'd expect.

League is very weak
I wouldn't be expecting anything from him in the next couple of years, if at all. It's basically like hoping one of the academy kids comes good, a small chance but highly unlikely. Cases like Martinelli are once in a blue moon.
Stating the obvious here aren’t you Fieldy.

Easy for people to think it will be another Martinelli. People shouldn't be under any illusions that it's nothing more than a punt.
So was Martinelli. No one here was excited when we signed him. You never know, he may be better than Martinelli

Nothing Wrong With Me
Hopefully this is where the group stages of the Europa league comes into its own.
6 games and early cup games should give him a good feel for things. Throw in match day squads in which he gets thrown on with another 5 attackers when we need a goal. At that rate he will end up with the same amount of appearances as Saka.

Agreed. Get him involved pre season then see if he can play a part in the games you mentioned. Got to be happy with this signing, its the only way to unearth a future starter for little money, or a sell on for a big profit.

Apparently he's physically not ready for England in general so wonder who will we loan him to.

Btw Marquinhos is no Wellington Silva. This kid has a good chance of making it here. It all depends on his mentality and dedication. Is he an elite youngster?probably not. But the talent is there, just a question of whether he can implement it at the highest level. Let’s wait and see.

Great to be signing some experienced defensive cover. I'm all for more Centre Backs. Welcome.

Technical director Edu said: “We’re delighted to have completed the transfer with Sao Paulo, as Marquinhos was a player we had been watching for a while. At 19, he is still very young, so he is a player for the future. We look forward to Marquinhos now joining us for pre-season, making his new home, and continuing to grow and develop with us.”
Arteta was tired of Pepe ignoring his shouts on the sideline so replaced him with a new forward with big enough ears to never be able to close out Arteta.
