Haven't read the thread, but I assume we have people here who have wanted to sell him in his bad spells?

Really tough season for him. At first it looked like he was very sharp and much faster than in recent times. Then all the injuries hit him.

It's not easy to find such a player, who dictates the game and is a relentless presser when fit.

Hopefully he can leave those injuries behind next season, and show his true level again.

Honestly, this guy was such a bargain when we landed him permanently, and now he is enshrined alongside Viera and Adams. Even with his current rust, he is still the guy who will take hold of games and that our forwards trust to pass the ball to them. I kind of want to Eze play with him more.

He (and much of our squad) has had a rough year. We never really reached our potential on offense, what with Saka playing wounded much of the year, Havertz only being available periodically, this guy repeatedly injured and having setbacks, Calafiore being out a lot of the year, etc.

We still got to 85 points and won the league with seven points to spare.
