He got injured in international duty twisting his ankle lad. This is a freak incident, like Merino.

Has absolutely nothing to do with rotating the squad and 3 games in you don’t need to rotate Nwaneri in at all. This isn’t fifa career mode where you create a second squad and rotate them every game.
That's what a short mind would say, you never disappoint me.

This is how it looked my foot hours after my injury and then 3 days later. Second degree. Third degree means complete rupture of the ligament and means surgery. This is why I am telling you second degree is not as simple as you think IF IT is second degree.

I actually broke and tore the ligaments in my ankle in almost the exact way that Ødegaard’s ankle went there. It’s already been said here though, it could be anywhere from mild sprain to long-term injury based on the clip alone. We will just have to wait and see.

Ødegaard is probably the last player in the squad we’d want injured, and it always tastes even more bitter as it occurred in a pointless match. But the more games these guys are forced to play, the more and more common big injuries to top players is going to become.

It was a friendly game. The Nations League is just the national teams version of Community Shield.
So whats the difference if you should scrap the nation league if the the alternative are friendly games? At least it is more competitive compared to friendlies, what makes it more interesting for the players & fans.

There always have been international games and for many players it's the biggest honour in their career. The more and more club games are the problem.

But the season’s just started? Why do we need to rotate players who have not played over the summer?

This is an unfortunate incident, like the Rice and Merino situations. We are short yes, but it’s not completely the end of the world. You’ll see.

Let’s assume Ødegaard is ok and can play this weekend, I still wouldn’t play him because there are harder battles to come than Sp**s

We have players who can fill in our midfield, and no not Jorginho and TP5 as a double pivot.

I think he has a point in that you need to make sure your bench options have minutes under their belt so that they can deliver if they are needed because of injuries. This isn’t the same thing as “rotation” - I’m just talking about 10-20 minute sub appearances to get up to speed.

Ordinarily I’d be annoyed that the only real Ødegaard replacement option we have hasn’t seen any game time but tbh given the games we’ve had I can’t complain too much.

Although prior to the start of the season I did say this in one of my more prophetic moods…

We need to start giving minutes to Nwanweri, regardless of game state.

We will actually need him sooner rather than later and it will be damaging for all if he’s not up to speed when called on.

There’s been a failure of planning all throughout this window. I don’t wanna see it extend onto the pitch as well now.

The Football Gods are punishing Arteta with injuries for chasing goalkeepers and defenders in the summer. Should have signed one of Eze, Simons or Doue to replace ESR and Vieira. But no, Arteta needs to live out his goalkeeper substitute fantasy. Luckily for him, I have bestowed him with elite footballing knowledge that will gift him three points if he swallows his pride and listens to me.

No excuses for the Spanish Moyes. This is the life of a top coach. Fergie used to pull up to the Emirates with an injury-ravaged squad that contained O’Shea and Wes Brown and walk away with three points. This Sp**s team reminds me of a Wenger team circa 2010 - nice football but naive and easy to slice through.

Exactly. I agree. Players should not play more than a certain quantity of minutes. Even should be written in a reglament.

I think everyone on the forum could have gone their entire lives without seeing your foot.

His ankle will be ugly to look at but small ankle sprain is not something we should be worry about.

They'll definitely know more after test the important thing it's not Achilles or he broken something in his ankle. But I'll be surprised if he played against Sp**s

I think first one is better. More experienced and competitive. Nwaneri is too young and has not even debuted to be thrown in the NL derby. This is why he should played 10-20 mins for at least two matches. Only problem is Partey - Jorginho is too slow. I think timber and Havertz are going to play in the middle next to Partey. So be prepared for the most boring midfielder in Arsenal recent years if this happens.

It's funny if you think how he sent Vieira in loan and sold ESR without giving him enough consistency and chances and then not getting anyone to replace them.

Arsenal Quotes

I've got the best goalkeeper and the best centre half. All I need are the best wingers and the best forward. It doesnt matter what the rest are like.
