Özil 4 FA cups.
Ramsey 3 FA cups.
Cazorla 2 FA cups.
Rosicky 1 FA cup.

Ødegaard...1,000,000 hair flicks.

The decline of our playmaking position man ..
Özil had tons of games like this though, if Ødegaard had the privilege of playing with Santi or Alexis we'd win today. There's a reason no one ever brings up Özil when talking about the best Emirates era players.

I wouldn’t sell him but would sign a more offensive LAM to give him competition. Or start him deeper, he can retain possession well but around the box he is poor.

Someone like A.Baena, with Rice and Ødegaard deep may work.

We are seeing without Saka to be decisive we are really tepid on the right.

Why did we bloody bin ESR!!!
I guess you compare ESR to Rice and Merino (players Arteta wanted there) and you can see how he imagines our midfield.

It's also a hint to us that we won't see Ødegaard in this role with a more attacking midfielder next to him, if there was any plan for that we would've seen him already with Nwaneri

He’s a walking Durex commercial at this point. Another poor performance but at least he was first up for the penalty shootout and put that one away. Needs to do a lot better maybe drop him into the LCM position with Nwaneri ahead when the latter returns.

Can't blame Ødegaard at all for this, he clearly did what he could.

Think people calling his personal performance poor are just looking at the result and assuming the performance. He does still look a touch laboured to me but IMO you create this much and the team don't score from your supply then its on the forwards and not you.

Don't do this to yourself . There's a witch hunt and it's not the first one with Ødegaard. Makes more sense to blame his kid, hair, and mustache if you want to be one of the cool kids

I need to know what these chances were because these stats can be misleading. At the same time I think it’s obvious we created lots of chances just the finishing was poor.

I guess we know now why Saka is our main penalty taker. Ødegaard just doesn't have it in him to convert those when it really matters.
Not saying he had a bad game per se, but if he doesn't miss that penalty we win that game pretty easily, imo. It's just those little things that separate the good players from the truly elite ones.

Top of my head you've got Havertz and Rice both missing from a few yards out, if I watch the extended highlights (very unlikely) there's more.

He didn't miss the penalty the save was ridiculous. Their goalie was an absolute beast.

That said Ødegaard's peno conversions in general aren't good enough.

There was a ball into Martinelli as well in the first half that he should have done better with.

His creation was fine yesterday- but he got into shooting positions a couple times and didn’t pull the trigger. Lacking confidence and I hear the shouts for him not to be captain as you cannot have a confidence player as your captain. He’s supposed to be the guy that puts the team on his back. Can’t be passing when you should shoot.

If you go.back and read the Champions League defeat to Chelsea in 2004 on here, you have fans calling Henry crap lol...at the end of the day football's an emotional game, so when you are doing badly players will get criticized..maybe over criticized at some points but that's the name of the game, but these are our best players they should have higher standards.

Feel since Saka has went out (who was carrying us without Martin) we needed more from Ødegaard and he is really failing us, feel he does need to step up more.

I went back to try find old threads after reading this and people saw 2003/04 as a disappointment because we only won the league. If only they knew what was to come 😭

Saka had a fair share of low games as well, people need to learn it's a team game and they need each other. I'd say Ode needs Saka more, but ideally, we get a new CF who would make the two of them even better.
