If he hadn’t been diabolical for the last few months then he’d be getting some leeway.

This guy is our supposed world class midfielder and captain. Everyone is killing the manager/Havertz, this bloke should be held to the same standard.

Form and fitness.

What about his undeniably world class performances over the last 2/3 years? This is probably the first time since he’s signed permanently that he’s had any kind of dip and along with Saka, carried all of our creative burden. Does that not deserve any kind of leeway?

I usually defend us against this narrative that we have the most annoying fanbase but I genuinely question if some of us deserve a successful team.

Ødegaard has been lauded for the last few years as a world class fanbase by the fanbase. As has much of this team, despite not winning anything.

These guys have to take the rough with the smooth. Rather than worrying about what the fans deserve, how about we concentrate on the fact that this will likely be the fifth season these “world class” players have failed to win a trophy, and the 21st year we’ve failed to win a title.

You can bookmark this but I'm saying today Ødegaard will be considered as the best AM as soon as we get forward option on the left and center. I don't doubt that at all, I can see him on a bad day still creating loads of chances for others.

You don't win things with Havertz, Merino, Jorginho, and Martinelli, that's not gonna work and has nothing to do with some great players we have in the squad

You only have to look at the past two seasons to see how good he is. He's been dealing with injury, new baby at home and illness. And now losing the only other guy in attack that's on his level.

I love Ødegaard, but he’s been a joke the last few months.

Saliba/Gabriel/Rice/Saka (the other leaders), their performance levels haven’t dropped as much as his for me. He deserves to be called out.

He isn't in great form at the moment but still created ten (10!) chances against Man Utd. That is more chances created in a single game by a Premier League player this season across all competitions. What more can he do? If no one is putting away the chances he is creating than of course his performance is going to look a lot worse than it actually was.

I dunno with him. I still think he's playing too much games after the injuries but we don't have anyone to rotate with him.

It's also difficult to combine with poor midfielders like Rice and Merino, whose adapting to the league. Also, he misses Saka alot

I mean, there's a clear difference between those and Ode. Ode was out injured in between.

I guess we know now why Saka is our main penalty taker. Ødegaard just doesn't have it in him to convert those when it really matters.
Not saying he had a bad game per se, but if he doesn't miss that penalty we win that game pretty easily, imo. It's just those little things that separate the good players from the truly elite ones.
Its the first he has missed
Saka has missed
It was a good save
Everyone is sn expert after the fact

Is there a balance now where players ar either trash or good or is there a case of players having times where they are not good but pushing for form and adding value
Or is it as you say never ever good enough
@GDeep™
Can you give a balanced indebt reason for your view?
Seriously just curious

Really good today, still squeezed in a shocking miss though lol.

His wife should put the foot down soon, tell him he can't see the kid until he starts scoring again 😅
