How do you know what his wife is like and whether she is to blame for anything? There are a plethora of reasons why his form could have dropped off why does the wife have to be in the firing line when we don't know anything about their relationship or about her apart from her gender and race?

I don’t know it is cause but it is correlated in time. If a Ode tore his achilles and couldn’t play after we would have no problem identifying cause. All I know is until he followed Mik’s dumb advice and was single he could play. He gets a battle ax at home and goes Bjorn Borg on us

What stupid suggestion by Arteta?
To get married?
And if Arteta didn't suggest that, he wouldn't got married?
Are you drunk or on some drugs?

Is weed a drug then yes. I can’t prove causation, but his lack of form is correlated to him falling in line with Ayatollah Mik’s stupid marriage drive. The last people that should get married are young famous millionaires at their earning peak which will last only a few years. When 3/5ths of these guys get divorced and destroyed; only then they will realize how dumb Mik’s advice was and their own stupid decision. I hope Mik advised them to use Hakimi method and put all their money in trust in Mom’s name. Ask Bezos and Gates if they wish they got married 200 billion dollars later paid to someone who hates you now

It’s funny how Mik’s coaching and style of play historically demoralizes the team after half a season. I don’t blame them; I had to watch it for 5 years and I routinely turn off matches because he has made us the most boring elite club in Europe

Not sure I could see Ødegaard on this pitch, then again you could probably say that about most of Premier League footballers these days.

No wonder Rioch was a rubbish manager.

Well, I'm a going to burst your bubble here a bit, this is indeed a Scotsman that is "re-commentating" older games.

He is brilliant though.

I have a completely different take on it. My first child motivated me to leave my job and venture out on my own because I wanted to provide the best possible life I could for my family. My wife stood by me and she did most of the heavy lifting with the baby with a lot of help from my in laws. When there was an important work event the next day I just slept in another room so I could get a good nights rest and my wife and mother in law took care of the baby. Raising a child really isn’t some mysterious final level boss event. Humans have been doing it from day 0 and if you have experienced people to help out it really isn’t that hard. Ødegaard and his wife presumably have mothers who have given birth to and raised children before and even if they don’t they could easily afford an army of Nannie’s to help out.

Having a baby should drive you to want to be the best version of yourself not trigger some capitulation event. The thought of the hundreds of thousands of dollars I would need to raise in order to provide the best possible life and education for my child drove me to work like a mad dog and I did manage to make something for myself. I also owe everything I achieved to my wife who supported me all the way and picked me up and gave me strength whenever I lost belief in what I was doing.

The idea that Ødegaard, a professional athlete who earns a ridiculous amount of money, can’t turn up once or twice a week to play football because of family responsibilities? Incomprehensible.

I was referring to the fact life doesnt always go to plan. If you have a post natal depressed wife or wife who just isnt well equipped for kids ( not all women are) you might not be able to focus on your work as much as you were able too. Also some people dont have family close to support in such cases.

Who knows if this is the case with Oordegaard, likely not, but there was all this talk about him looking sick and having the weight of the world on his shoulders immediately after his first baby. There can be valid reasons that are not just a matter of manning up.

It shows how crucial he was to our run last season. First injury then complete loss of form and we look a different side. So much of our creativity comes from him that when he isn't on it we look toothless. Add Saka isn't there and our level drops dramatically.

Whatever is affecting him he needs to get back to the player he was before because currently he is painfully average. Far cry from the guy who was arguably the best player in the league.

Ødegaard isnt an attacking midfielder. He should be competing directly with Zubimendi for the 6/8 role next season.

Sign Florian Wirtz and let him duke it out with Ethan Nwaneri for the #10.

This gimp throwing his hands up at Nwaneri who was doing his job for him pissed me off. 2 months hiding and making crucial errors should warrant some perspective and humility.

Proper annoyed me that when Ethan looked the most likely to dig Ødegaard and the rest of them out of a hole for the majority of the game.
