This has played a part too but the truth is that there has never been as few world class players in this era as in previous era. A player like Nasri would cost at least a 100m and he wasn't even considered world class and he was several levels above Ødegaard. Rosicky would be modric in this era lol.
No he wouldnt. The truth is players become better after they retire. Nasri was never main man and was complimentary creator to a man creator. There’s no doubt as someone who watched Nasri and Ode than the Frenchman was better. Put him in this team and tell him be main creator as lone creator and he would suffer. Nor does he has close to Ode vision and passing

the market played big part of why football become too boring any above average player cost 70M+ and like you said i remember we bought Nasri for just under 15M nowdays player with Nasri ability will at least cost 60M yes i know inflation playing part but it shouldn't be like that

During our early Emirates era wenger didn't play with a primary creator. He had lots of creators all over the pitch lol. Cesc was better and put up better numbers. But that's no reason to assume Ode was better than Nasri.

What are you talking about, they are not from different eras?
Rosicky is less than 5 years older than Modrić.

With all due respect, Modrić is tier above Rosicky

Again it’s much easier to be complimentary player than main player. Nasri was secondary creator for Cesc and then David Silva. No way did he have the temperament to lead a team. You guys remember the past with pure nostalgia. Also to say Rosicky would be modric is as laughable as Nasri would be 100 million player

Nasri's first touch never deserted him unlike Ødegaard.

I wish Arsenal had the facilities to sign someone like Wirtz but he looks like he's gonna go to an oil club.
We’re overdue a signing like this tbh. We have the money to as well but our last two blockbuster 60M+, 200kpw+ signings have been Rice and Havertz fgs.

Nasri is most likely a 100m player in this climate, not sure why the confusion. That French gen alongside Benzema, Ben Arfa etc came with a lot of hype as teens.

I dunno about the Modric stuff, but Oxeki is basically saying the meatro's of the past would be held in slightly higher regard if in the present day and seeing the plaudits Ødegaard and his peers get, I tend to agree.

Other than Cesc, the Wengerball era vanilla midgets are very overrated by Arsenal fans. No one else gives a toss about them.

Ødegaard has been rubbish this season but he’s achieved just as much if not more for the club than the vast majority of them.

Calling the creative players of past vanilla midgets whilst saying Ødegaard has achieved the same if not more in the same breath is very wild and confusing to me.

This current crop are the very definition of overrated, there are WC debates every time they have a couple good games in a row. The previous lot were nowhere near those talks despite winning FA Cups, getting CL finishes and finishing runner up in the league at times as well.

Rosicky at Sparta/Dortmund was one of the most hyped players in the world. I'm definitely not saying he's a Modric level because that guy has been incredible but it's not outlandish to say Rosicky was a seriously respected player. As luck would have it because of injuries we only really saw it for a year or two.

As far as the Ødegaard stuff goes I'm not about to start comparing, I'd be more keen to see him alongside the likes of Hleb or Nasri right now, he needs some help.

lol I'm a bit annoyed that players of the past have been called vanilla midgets when Ødegaard is literally the biggest pussio I have ever seen in an Arsenal shirt.

I think in a 5 aside in my old estate he'd get barged a couple times and stop playing tbh he's a proper wet blanket. I saw zero resistance when his NT manager got him in a headlock, he's flimsy.

I reckon if he went out with the lads and a brawl broke out in the club he'd be in the toilets crying I think. He has vegan wrists, he would probably lose a 1v1 with a cheese burger and I believe he could be a hand model with those dainty hands.

Yeah, I agree. I think he’s a decent player that gets seriously overrated by our fans imo. If he was as good as they make him out to be or world class whenever they selectively decide to use that tag then he’d be dragging us through when we most need him as those surrounded by him are rated highly by our fanbase too. For me, Saka has that consistency in him whereas Ødegaard has a tendency to choose when the game suits him.
