He did ok, he was picking up great positions to funnel the ball over to Saka, which caused them a lot of issues in the first half.

Even though I love Ødegaard, we're getting to the point where we have to ask: is he starting to become our weakest link? He's definitely a great presence in the dressing room and our captain, but soon he needs to raise his level back to what we know he's capable of at his best.

He is atm, along with Martinelli. However I think both will come back to better form. Him with the return of Saka and Nelli with the emergence of MLS x Rice making the left sided attack viable again. This will also free up Ode too.

GMart is not a weak link. Watch not the offensive parts of the game, but transition and defense and you will be impressed. He's critical to the way we play!

Now Ødegaard, I am in agreement, remember how Zinny and TOJ got "phased out" of the team? I see Ødegaard doing the same unless he turns things around!

Who's TOJ?

I agree Ødegaard is next in line for an ousting.

Give this guy a chance, he’s not at his best but we know how talented he is. He’ll get back to the level soon.

Ode may be off form. But he’s better player than rice
It's wild how badly you need shame yet you don't feel it. It's Rice who has stepped up this season and led by example when the Captain hasn't. Ødegaard was the worst Arsenal player on the pitch last night as he has been many a time this season. You are what your form says you are until you prove otherwise and right now, Declan Rice is a considerably better player than Martin Ødegaard.

I've seen Ødegaard play exceptionally for almost 3 seasons between 2021-2024 where he's been sharp, nifty, technical and creative. Then he gets injured for 3 months, comes back and plays like he's downed tools, messing up the most basic of passes, touches and dribbles. Clearly, he's out of sorts, but if I had to bet money on what the cause is, I'd bet it on him still nursing the injury. We may need to wait till next season before we see an uptick in form.

He won't be ousted, he's the captain and everyone can see the quality footballer we have. His problem for me is his inability to release the ball quickly as a #10. There were times in our previous 2 games where if he released the ball 2 seconds earlier, our offensive transition may have resulted in better chance creation. The longer he keeps hold of the ball, the easier it is for defenders to close the spaces we're trying to exploit. I don't know if it's an instruction or the way Arteta wants him to play in certain situations but maybe if we get a proper #9 he'd have the outlet to start passing the ball quicker.

Succinctly put! I remember wondering what was wrong with Ben White too, only to find out he was carrying injury. It's the only logical explanation, you don't go from great to crap in 5 months.

He's still got that **** the bed vibe to me, which I think the majority of our other big players are starting to grow out of.

He really has a lot to prove next season but I hope he comes good.
