Still Pining for Wenger
I'm sorry that he didn't take centre stage against Madrid. The fairytale story was right there. He wasn't bad but it would have been poetic if he had scored those free kicks and scored at the Bernabeu, or had a virtuoso midfield performance.

Would like to see some experimentation with Nwaneri and Trossard in that position what with us having meaningless league games left to try things. Still don’t see Teta dropping him for the CL games he’s going to have to find it inside somewhere to set up.

He killed at least 3 promising attacks vs Madrid by not being able to complete 5 yard passes that someone with his ability should be able to do in his sleep. It's really baffling.

Yeah they are pretty bread and butter at the moment Merino is showing more nous with the final ball than him .

The longer he has been here, the less area he plays in. I already see the same with Nwaneri. Playing in less area and creativity being sucked out of him. I’m convinced our training sessions and approach completely favours defensive players and kill any creative player

Plenty of bollocks, You might as well suggest to send Ødegaard to Sp**s training session then!

At this point he is so bad that there is no need to beat a dead man. I would urge all forum members to write only good opinions for him. I'll start. Skipper was amazing. Led the press, did out of the world combinations and his shot was so fast and lethal. Wow.

Let’s see if we sign another AM (unlikely) but if we did watch him get progressively worse the longer he plays under Arteta

He was fairly decent today. A 6 or 7 /10.

There comes a point when a player going through a poor spell gets crapped on for having a decent if unspectacular game.

If he had the exact same game and his shot had gone in rather than hit the post half this place would be talking about him being 'back'

It's hard to take serious tbh.

Thought he was grand today, kept things moving and linked up well. His unwillingness to shoot and go for the fake shot is a tad annoying because the majority of the time nothing comes from it.

Best he's played for a while. Always looking to get it moving forward quickly and a real zip to his passing. Still frustrates with his unwillingness to have a pop at goal when he has an opening but I guess that's just him.

One of his better games in a while, but Nwaneri has more goals overall this season, and this is where I hope Ode improves next season. With the positions Ode gets into, he needs to be more of a goal threat.

Not saying zinny is close to our best fb
But he is the one able to to pass threw the lines to martin in the op half
The more ballers we put around him the better working condition he will get and the better he will be for us. A actual 9 and zubi next season he will shine next year.
I still agree he has been well below par this season

It was better than recent outings for sure but he's still so far off of what he was the previous couple of seasons.

Against a 10 man relegation team, he played OK. There, I said it.
I want certainly want it to turn on for him. But if he’s consistently the worst player on the pitch, I’m not sure why he wears the armband. He’s supposed to be the creative driver in the team and he showed last year that he can do it. Whatever he’s changed in his life, he needs to get back to where he was.
