I don't think Arteta doesn't drop him because of the armband. I think he's desperate to get Ødegaard going again because of how good he was last season.
But there comes a point where Arteta will have to make that difficult decision for the better of the team. He'll be desperate to get to Munich and as it stands now we have a better chance to make it to the final without Ødegaard.
Drop him for whom? Against psg away who would play instead of him?

Worst one for me was near the end of first half Rice had the ball, Ødegaard wide open in front of him not even looking at him. Think Rice even shouted at him to look so he could play the pass and Ødegaard wanted nothing to do with it.

He's scared of the ball out there and that's a very bad place to be when your such an important part of the team. Sad what's happened to him.

He is sabotaging us, it's his long con as a Liverpool fan
  1. Play two back to back incredible seasons with no injuries
  2. Lure the club into relying on you and sell all your competition
  3. Get injured immediately
  4. Come back and play the worst season of your career to hand Liverpool the title and destroy our chance at our first CL

Has it all to prove, this season is so bad that I think he’s used up all the credit he had in his bank.

Next season is huge for him. He’s another bad season away from being one of those washed players who had a few great seasons earlier in their career.

Arteta wanted James Madisons, Paqueta but Edu brought Ødegaard for Arteta. By the way, Ødegaard was good but it seems for Arteta's system, he is not suited anymore.

I don’t know if it needs to be called something as fancy as zone dominance but he’s spot on there, Ode always always always struggles when the game is a bit scrappy and/or the opposition midfielders are aggressive.

He has no excuse, you don’t need to ‘dominate your zone’ with strength either, I’d say Bernado Silva is at good as anyone at retaining the ball under pressure.

It’s a combination of skill, balance, strength and aggression and it’s the lack of the last two but especially the last one that make Ødegaard so poor in these situations.

Zidane tried to tell us about him you know.

Apparently he knew a thing or two about what it takes to be a CAM.

Exactly. There are uneven seasons and then there are seasons so bad you ask yourself if you got duped like in Primal Fear and this is the real guy because you can't understand how anyone could fall off like this for no discernible reason.

Yup.

That says it all really. And you know how much I hate Zinchenko. Like I really really hate him.
I hate him more than you do and I'd rather see him out there than this disgrace. At this stage I'd accept Eddie back on a lifetime contract if it meant I didn't have to watch Ødegaard anymore.

CAM has got to be up on Berta’s agenda now.

No way he’s been watching Ødegaard stink the place out and think “ah yes all we need is a striker”.

I wanna see links. And I want them now.

Fair enough. But I think this tie is more likely done and we lose with either. It would be crazy to dump your captain now when you stood by him all season for a guy who is 100% gone this summer.

Just play Ødegaard and come summer time but another CAM

Guys like Simons and Cherki should be available. We actually might have f*cked up sending Vieira on loan because he might be doing more in that position at present.

Nothing to say that hasn't already been said.

That captaincy, though, should be gone. And fast. No one in the team is looking to him as a leader or an example anymore

There was a reason though. This guy did not fully recover from that injury. Ankle injuries are very tricky. He might need surgery at the end of the season. He doesn't look as agile or shifty as he used to. Don't know if he got sick or changed his diet, cause he has been looking pretty gaunt for a while, also having your first child could have a psychological effect on a person they didn't anticipate. Maybe he finally found his purpose in life, being the best dad ever, **** this football ****.

Arsenal Quotes

I still have an interest in training and development, in the stages that make it possible for players first to acquire technique (between 7 and 12) and then to develop physically (between 12 and 16), then to deepen their mental resilience (between 17 and 19) and finally between 19 and 22 to acquire what is critical, like the roof of a house without which all the rest rots away: intelligence and motivation
