That was a very different performance to what he showed here this season, looked like the old Ødegaard.

Far more decisive and quicker with his decisions and passes. Playing it forward more, etc.
I wonder if the people who swore his injury never healed and that there must have been some physical reason for why he was so awful will admit that the thing they invented with absolutely no evidence to support it was in fact an invention and not a real thing.

I was really hoping it was the case myself, but it was more copium than fact for me haha.

Do you think he’ll ever repeat his previous form? Genuine question.

You mean his outstanding form from the season before last? I have real doubts. I've never seen a regression like what we saw last season with no apparent explanation that led to full rebound.

I think that certainly there are changes that can help all of our players tactically and so maybe Zubimendi hopefully keeping him out of our third of the pitch will be a positive as well as moving the ball quicker but the majority of his problems for me were of his own making.

How many times did we see him totally ignore a pass that was on under absolutely no pressure that could have produced a chance or danger leading to a chance and he did a stupid 360 spin or just stood there only to pass the ball sideways? That's a decision-making issue.

It's weird to make bad decisions consistently for an entire season and that's before we even get to criticizing the poor execution of the rare correct decisions he made. What I do feel really strongly about is that the club have got to have a contingency that allows him to be dropped if he's still stinking the place up because we will not win anything with that position being played that poorly for nearly an entire season again. The margins are too fine for the Captain to be a liability.

Sums my thoughts up perfectly. Good post.

After we sign Sesko and Rodrygo/Eze, this player will be our weakest link unless he recaptures his form.

I think he will. If you play fantasy football, he may be the best bargain.

Religiously, it is said that God created man. I am only a guide. I allow others to express what they have in them. I have not created anything. I am a facilitator of what is beautiful in man.
