Gyokeres x Ødegaard SHOULD be a great pairing. Gyokeres actually moves like a striker unlike Havertz, Merino etc.

Yeah, there's not really a mystery here. Guy suffered the first significant injury of his career, rushed back from it, and just never looked confident after his return. After a full proper offseason and 100% healthy I'd be surprised if we see anything other than the Ødegaard of prior years.

Was very positive performance today look very sharp still he need to fix up that decision making just be more quicker.

He was good overall but he f*cked up what should have been an easy counter goal not releasing Dowman when he was in space and would have had the beating of his fullback on any half decent through ball. Stuff like that has to be ironed out. He dithered on the ball and the chance went begging. Not the end of the world in a friendly but a problem if it prevents us turning a point into 3 for example.

It's as if he needs to be running on egg shell in order to pass or shoot at the first time.

I've watched now 3 different teenagers take more responsibility and show more bravery and urgency than our club captain. I don't know which successful club can say that they have a similar situation. It would be unthinkable most places with real standards.

Against Newcastle he was good but today he done nothing at all so we need consistency from him. If the club has lot of creativity I wouldn't care he underperform but because we have little to non he need to show up every game.

He's a very good auxiliary player for a team when things are going well, but when things go wrong he's pretty much useless...kinda like Özil in a way which is funny after all the comparisons, though obviously on different ways.

The team has changed so much since 22/23 and even 23-24 that he can't be the main man here as we can't carry him, nor does he have the natural talent to be carried really...the way we play doesn't suit him anymore.

Still a quality player, just being just incorrectly.

The worst, most frustrating version of Özil could still put the ball on a plate for any half decent run from anywhere on the pitch. This guy creates nothing these days and is taken off the ball by a light breeze.
