Agree he looked good. Actually he looked very very good. But my point is Eze and Zuba can chip in for last year Ødegaard easily.

We don't need them to chip in for last years Ødegaard. We need them to step up to the best version of Ødegaard. The version that looked to be returning.

Also, with all the Eze central talk, its gone unnoticed that yet again, we will be picking between Trossard and Martinelli on the left

I think Eze can match Ode best form. Zuba can then take over as tempo setter. Probably better than Ode in that regard.

Shame about the left wing but as you said we have favorable schedule so Martinelly and Trossard should be enough for that.

We'll see in time I guess. Luckily, we have a favourable run of games coming up.

The reason I brought up Tempo Setting is Run the Trap said we signed Eze for this reason (Ødegaard being out).... To me, they are very different players.
Agree on that, that Eze is not a tempo setter. That’s really not his game. But yeah as I said our first team has more than enough of that. Even beyond Zubi we don’t need one. If anything I want Ødegaard playing further forward and getting on the edge of the box to combine with Saka + get on the end of chances.

For me our best lineup has Eze LW. We experimented with two 10s vs West Ham. However, that is not a scalable solution for coming up the top teams or navigating tougher away games.

The most balanced midfield we have is Zubi Rice Ødegaard. Eze LW then fixes our low technical ceiling at CF with Gyokeres and LCM with Rice. It’s balanced and works imo.

Vs low blocks we can do Eze x Ødegaard in midfield also.

The most ideal solution would have been a top class LW. However they weren’t necessarily available and we have enough to win big things now and can still do that next summer when there are better or more proven players available.

LW market automatically looks better next summer if Yildiz doesn’t renew at Juve (he’s a must sign imo) but also Semenyo has kicked on at Bournemouth.

We might see Saka on the left if Noni is back...

Nah he looked mint the limited time he was on the pitch the last few games.

He’s back. But just not physically back. Like he’s spiritually back or something.

Think we've got exciting times ahead once he gets over his MCL, barring other injuries ( 😭 ) we have an outrageous set of midfield options now.

Watching the Newcastle game again, I am pretty sure now that I prefer Ødegaard actually as a DLP when we are in controlled possession.
Think Ødegaard and Eze actually complement each other in midfield.

Being real I think Saka has earned the right to play wherever he wants, so Noni will be getting moved to LWF if they play together imo.
Arteta experimenting with Saka on the left makes it pretty clear that he intends to see how that works when Noni returns, as he should. We need to be less predictable and more versatile.

People have got to get over this business of Saka being on the RW as the only thing he can do. Dembele just won a Ballon d' Or playing False 9 when he was a winger his whole career. Messi has played as a RW, 10 and False 9 in his career.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with moving a supremely talented player who can perform in multiple roles around the pitch for the good of the team. If Saka at LW and Noni at RW is what makes us most dangerous then that’s what we should do.

It's also not a big ask of a player who was developed on the left side of the pitch and has all of the tools to thrive there to play there for spells as he has done successfully for this club in a small sample size.

The rule is whenever we have signs of optimism over a minor injury, it always turns out worse than first expected. This is the way.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsène Wenger's idea is not only to play good football. It's to play good football to win. In my day, we knew that with our style we could hurt teams and win trophies too. But we did it our way, with the positional game, passing, movement.
