People hate him and then when he's not there complain about a lack of control in the midfield.
Yep. Look he’s not exactly been great but he’s been a massive scapegoat this season. The abuse he gets is on a different level.

And you won’t like to hear this because I know you like to stay positive (which I respect) but Arteta’s cautiousness is the real issue for this team’s attack not Ødegaard.

Yup, I've been saying for a while the attack barely changes if it's Ode, Eze or Havertz. The team is fully bought into the system. I do think the system works better with Ødegaard than without but it's not likely it's changing if he's not there.

Is this supposed to redeem him? The same thing happened several times this season (Wolves at home, Villa away) when he was on the pitch.

No one is saying this redeems him? The point people are making is the point you are saying.

This is an issue with or without Ødegaard.
I don't think anyone thought that our collapses and defensive issues are an Ødegaard problem. The problem with Ødegaard lies in attack and we did score two goals tonight.

I've seen Ødegaard dominate this system. Week in, week out. I know what he can do, I know what he can do when he combines with Saka, I know what he can do when he combines with Kai and Ben. I know what these players are capable of when they're fit and firing. You have to attempt to get that back in some way. Truth is, we have a completely new forward line full of misfit-toy-ass players and its just not working.

This comment makes me dizzy man. You saying our attack was good today and it was about the defence?

Sound like Arteta.

Our attack was a disgrace look how easy we scored that 1st and 2nd goal. We should have ended this game 3-0 minimum.

We had zero control that second half lmao. Football isnt just defense and offense, like ****ing American Football where they have two different teams for either. Its more connected than that. Its also about tempo and pace and attacking philosophies.

I've seen it as well, but it feels like ages ago.

And when was the last time Ødegaard helped us control a game for 90 minutes, the one thing he's supposed to be best at?

Scoring two goals away from home should be enough to win the game.
You’re saying things with words which if said to an alien who doesn’t understand the concept of football, would probably make some sense.

But you’re on an Arsenal forum talking to people who understand football. Not sure what you’re playing at?

There are games where you need the defence to bail you out, this is not one of them.

We should have been all over them, dominating the game, creating chances, causing a constant threat, and scoring a few goals.

The absolute lack of creativity, spark, or threat gave Wolves the confidence (and the ****ing ball for large stretches) to draw the game.

It wasn't ages ago, it was literally just 2 seasons back. There's no reason why 3 or 4 players right smack in their prime should drop off that harshly from the level they've shown unless their bodies are crocked (which is certainly possible considering how much theyve played) or theres something mental going on.

You make it sound like it should be mandatory to score 5 or more goals against them. They're not that bad defensively.
They're terrible in attack and we shouldn't have conceded two goals against them.

Nope never said that. Read my comment again, not just about the goals but the manner of how we approach the game. We could have ended this game 2-0 on a different day and looked absolutely in control with no threat to us at all. We invited the pressure because we didn’t have the ability to do anything with the ball.

This is an issue with our mindset. It’s very negative and damage controlley rather than pro active.

Arsenal Quotes

I don't want the will to educate to be opposed by the will to win. That makes the educator sound like an idiot.
Any manager's approach must be to educate. One of the beauties of our job is the power to influence the course of a man's life in a positive way.
You and me have been lucky enough to meet people who believed in us and led us forward.
The streets are full of talented people but who didn't have the luck of finding someone who placed faith in them. I can be the one that facilitates life, that gives an opportunity
