He's been brilliant for the last couple of matches.

Insane stat. Even KDB didn't achieve this.

Probably my favourite player to watch on the ball. So elegant.

Glad he got a couple of assists today as recently his numbers haven't corresponded to how well he's played.

Best player in the team. If Jorginho was younger, it would be Jorginho tho.

Wouldn’t go that far. Let’s see against Porto, that’s the test for him.

Credit where it’s due, he has been excellent recently.
Porto is the test if he doesn`t do well. If he does well, Then Porto is no longer a big game and the test becomes the next game which goes on until the game where he doesn`t play well ( Which could be a game against Luton which then becomes a big game)

What’s with everyone crying? Sick of it. Absolutely destroying this forum.

Big players are judged on big games, more often than not Ode has gone missing in them over the last two years.

He’s in great form, I want to see him continue that against Porto. Don’t perform in the CL next week and we’re back at square one.

Now **** off.

Yeah but then he performs in an all or nothing game, where if you lose the league is gone, and it still isn't enough because you want him to do well against Porto in the CL.

You're too harsh on him anyways, considering he has assisted against Liverpool and Man Utd, and scored a thunderbolt away to Tottenham last year, and scored at Old Trafford and assisted at Stamford Bridge the year before. But yeah, he disappears.

Everybody is scoring and creating against Utd and Chelsea now, they are easy games. End of last season Ode went missing, like Saka. That’s where you judge players.

If these guys kill Porto next week then you say you have players who are now performing in CL KO games, their ratings go up. If they do nothing then I’m left questioning again.

This is how football has always worked, I’m not this new breed of fan who gets on my knees and sucks off a player just for wearing the shirt.

This is Arsenal, you are judged on the big moments.

This is exactly the issue. Utd and Chelsea are all of a sudden easy games. He got an assist and a goal against Liverpool last season and played brilliantly last week against pool. He had a good performance against City this season as well.
So the assertion that he went missing in "big" games which seems to be based on definition of "big" which doesn`t seem consistent. He was very poor against Sporting last season. Are they the only big games we played? End of last season as you rightly said, he was very average. But they were games against Nottingham Forest and Brighton. Are they now considered "big" games? Seems to be that the definition of "big" games seems to be those where he doesn`t play.

He does have his ups and downs and has had several average/poor games just like Saka as you said and just like every other attacking player out there maybe with the exception of around 5-6 players in the world. KDB,Haaland and Salah(and maybe Bernardo Silva) are the only EPL players I can think of who seem to consistently perform week in week out ( Though this view also may be biased by the fact that I don`t watch all City and Pool games).

KDB Salah and Haaland perform **** in some big games too(depends on what you call a big game really), the only difference is that their fans Don't cry about.

Ødegaard is pretty consistent is what he does, he doesn't have to give an assist or even score before you know he's running the show, because he has 2 to 3 games where he doesn't perform a season (just like every top player) doesn't make him bad player or make those games big games.

Haaland didn't score after the round of 16 in the champions league last summer, he went missing against some big clubs last season as well, their fans didn't cry about it, KDB has left 2 champions league finals in tears, he was even benched for a few matches last season for sub par performance. We really need to stop disrespecting our players, especially our top players.
These are the players that dragged us from being the laughing stock of the premier league to genuine premier league contenders.

Be Happy, it's not so bad if we Don't have anything to complain about.
