Martin Ødegaard: El Capitanø

All season I been saying the moment he is not on the pitch we are done as team. We saw a glimpse once he was subbed. We couldn’t do anything with the ball. All the people saying rice is more important and bigging that clogger up are looking stupid

What’s frustrating is we had games to rest players like Ødegaard and Rice. For example. In the CL, we’d already qualified, 5-0 up at half time, Arteta keeps Ødegaard on.

Over the last month, 3,4-0 up, Arteta plays Ødegaard for 90.

agree because basically we got nobody close to his quality in midfield if he injured we have to change the system Vieria can't do Ødegaard job neither ESR and Havertz

Despite the poor result yesterday, this guy was unreal. Honestly, some of those skills, touches and through balls in the first half were sublime. Martin Ødegaard Zidane out there; real baller.

If we don't win anything by the end of next season, he could leave.

Yh Rice isn't more important than this guy; it's just English media hype once again influencing supporters

All the hype of rice being the missing link and he taken us to next level. We have 4 points less this season than last season.

Too much politics in football. Can't understand all the Havertz scrutiny yet, Rice is £40m more expensive and is never questioned despite not massively improving us. If anything, we've gone backwards

why question him when because of him we improved massively in defense and he scored 5 times and got 6 assists despite playing DM he been one of best of his position in league. Havertz we question him because he not playing well as LCM but everyone praise him as CF.

Because our style of play in terms of the build up and incision phases went backwards with him as the 6. He's good defensively, I'll give you that. Overrall though, he doesn't perform like a £100m midfielder.

I feat that he’ll be gone in a year or two if we aren’t able to provide forwards who can actually make the most of his passing.

He is a bigger stronger version of Coquelin and Coquelin was too limited on the ball to play for us. Rice is too limited on the ball to ever be elite midfielder. Don’t fall for the media hype

He's the guy who has taken the game by the scruff of the neck when needed the most this season. His bad spell came when he was concussed and carrying an injury. After that point, he has made an extraordinary effort to set the tone for his teammates on both sides of the ball. He deserves to be a title winner. Many around him don't.
Can you list some games Ødegaard was a decisive factor in?

He said he was alright to a Norwegian journalist as he was leaving the stadium. Not sure there is too much in this.

Can we stop calling him overrated. Without him we have no tempo, our press loses energy, and we lose his moments of magic.

He's imperfect but he's super commited, and he's the most Arsenal like midfielder that I can think of in the best ways. He's our most valuable asset, and is a level above our other players talent wise, and he's also been in a different gear.

Ødegaard is the perfect example that the captain effect on the pitch is completely overrated. He couldnt have done more than he did in the first half and all the others player **** the bed regardless.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsène Wenger's idea is not only to play good football. It's to play good football to win. In my day, we knew that with our style we could hurt teams and win trophies too. But we did it our way, with the positional game, passing, movement.
