The barca game was like 5 in the morning european time so maybe that could effect performance a bit, Ødegaard is a good boy who i'm sure is going to bed at 10 o'clock usually. Maybe 11 max.

Meanwhile you take one look at Trossard's eyes and you can tell he is a creature of the night, that's when his powers are at their peak. So obviously he'd thrive in a game with that kick-off.

Surprised no-body has bumped this thread after his disgraceful outing last night.

He's become a turn over machine and a spark for opposition to transition against us, as seen him giving the ball straight to Southampton, Man City and Nottingham forest during the April-May title run last season which resulted in 3 critical goals against us.

He did the same vs Barcelona last night.

Also he was shocking during Raphinha's free kick.

But but, but! 'he was good for 30 minutes at St James Park last season'. He was also good vs Sp**s Away when they had no Bentacur and was 'world-class' at the Amex (when they did not field Caicedo/MacAllister in midfield), in the reverse fixture he was found out).

For me Ødegaard will continue to be on 'fraud-watch' against big oppositions due to his lack of intensity and struggles vs PnP. Remember Ødegaard struggling vs Curtis Jones/Henderson at Anfield or vs Doucoure/Onana/Gueye at Goodison park last season?

Honestly, do you risk playing Ødegaard vs the big boys next season in the Champions league? I don't, would rather play Trossard. We've seen his ball retention being shocking when faced against pressure.
You're clearly an astute student of the game! If there were a stat for TOs that turned into goals, Ødegaard would be leading it! Those were shocking, naive plays from someone of his intellect. While he can be brilliant on his day, he's too prone to those mistakes and worst of all, his propensity to embellish on every play he's involved in drives me crazy. It doesn't have to be pretty ALL the time, sometimes simple is better. He needs to do better.

One last thing .... I noticed that even though he often leads the press up top, rushing the ball handler, he almost never causes a TO from it.

You are casting negative dispersions on the sleeping patterns of people with dark circles under the eyes. Dark circles are often not due to sleep deprivation but have a genetic origin or are a sign of being highly allergic i.e to things like food, pollen, dust . Shame on you, #AM Allergies Matter

Are you drunk?

Instead of replying to that post with facts, you instead dish out an ad hominem. Tell me what did I say wrong about Ødegaard lack of intensity in games, struggling vs PnP, ghosting in big games and leading to turnovers/spark to transitions?

Vs Sp**s at the Emirates, he was pocketed by Bentacur during the 3-1 win. He was 'world-class' in the reverse fixture 2-0 win during the 1st half (as we were horrible during the 2nd half). Bentacur was injured during this fixture, replaced by Sarr.

Other than assisting Martinelli within the first 5 minutes vs Liverpool at the Emirates, he was nowhere to be seen afterwards. At Anfield, he struggled heavily vs Jones/Henderson.

He was shocking vs City at the Emirates (5.9 rating) and Etihad.

He was alrightish at Old Trafford and a bit vs United at the Emirates

He was poor vs Brighton at the Emirates and was 'world-class' at the Amex (no Caicedo/MacAllister in midfield).

We've beaten Brentford comfortably during the only game he did not start 3-0, he was very poor to Brentford at the Emirates.

He was decent for less than a half vs Newcastle at St james Park but was poor vs Newcastle at the Emirates after the first 10 minutes.

He was very poor vs Lavia at the Emirates when we were losing 3-1 during a pivotal game in the title race, when Lavia got injured and got subbed off, guess who came back alive? Ødegaard to score Arsenal 2nd goal minutes later.... why didn't we create chances prior to Lavia injury?

You can only think of Aston Villa away 2nd half as being his best away performance when the chips were down for us (2-1 leading up to half time).

Since next season there is big expectations regarding Arsenal to push City for another title charge and to do well in the Champions league, especially with the money we've invested, surely we should expect our key players to do well in big, high intensity matches, especially when teams will not sit back and let Arsenal have the ball.

Too right, mate. Here's my World XI that I know you would love. No darkhorses in my team.

The only underrated player there is Kimmich (Kjaer was too back in prime but I honestly haven't watched him in a long while).

For PL alone I would say the following are currently the most underrated:

FW: Watkins
FW: Wilson
ACM: Ødegaard
CM: Ward Prowse (although no longer PL)
CM: Norsgaard
CM: Rice (only by a certain section of Arsenal fans, rest of the league rate him)
RB: White
CB: Andersen
CB: Holding
LB: Tierney
GK: Ramsdale

He stepped it up from early pre season and was even asking the fans for more. He looks like the alpha now. Has that aura about him

He was brilliant today. He really applied himself in the press and the dirty work which has become habit but I particularly enjoy when he remembers how outrageously gifted he is and looks to skin defenders. I think Kovacic is still looking to see where he went.

One thing you could say about him last season is that he was not good in the league games against City. Well he was good today, hopefully he can step it up against them in the league this season as well.
