This. He was judged unfairly on his performance against Villareal despite it being his first start after injury. You could tell he wasn't 100% because he didn't try to dribble anyone until the Brighton game where he was magnificent and closer to his displays against West Ham pre-injury.

Say what you want about Arteta and Edu, but I think going for Ødegaard over Buendia actually shows ambition, because the former's ceiling is a lot higher and comes with a higher sticker price.
Ambition would be going for both, competition would only be good being realistic, Chelsea didnt seem to mind having Pulisic and Ziyech on the bench.

Leaving Beundia go because theres a chance of getting Ødegaard is a big gamble... might work out but just as easily it might now.

There's a good chance both of them ends up being on our bench if we sign them........... both are inferior to ESR and there's a good case to be made that we should be playing Martinelli + Pepe more often next season.

Well Im not too hot on Pepe, but even if they Pepe and Martinelli are playing more often you still have great options and can play more than one way. As Ive pointed out Chelsea lose someone to injury they have Pulisic and Ziyech on the bench. Hence the ambition, they can challenge for the title and Champions league because they have high quality options.

So, he got the 8. I guess they want to give 11 to Martinelli or a new signing.

Really happy with that signing. If all goes well we'll see his best years over the course of that deal. With regular football I think he gets better and better.

Real Madrid C. F. and Arsenal FC have agreed to the transfer of Martin Ødegaard.

Real Madrid would thank to thank the player for his professionalism and exemplary behaviour shown during the time he has spent at the club.

The club would also like to wish the player and his family the best of luck during the next stage of his career.

He was solid in the 6 months with us. Always felt he has another gear to go. Welcome back!

Also think he's a genuine option as one of the two deeper CMs, more so than ESR. In that respect, I don't think there's any conflict.
