Scapegoating this guy with some of the **** we watch week in week out from other players in the starting 11 is the lowest AM has ever fallen.
I don't think he's being scapegoated. He's discussed more because his turn for the worse has been bizarre and he plays an important role for the team.

So it's a compliment to what he showed he could be - whereas with some other players we're just used to them being crap so there's relatively little discussion.

Same thing is also true for Ødegaard.

He’s been run into the ground, but has shown a world class level this year.

Him, Rice, the defence and Raya are the only reason we are where we are.

I think I posted before, apparently his wife and family have not settled here and want to move back to Spain. If that’s the case you’d have to sell him as family comes first.

We really didn't appreciate Xhaka enough once he finally figured it out(although one guy here appreciates him a bit too much). I think we probably walk the league if we had him this season. He still had the occasional hot headed bozo moment in him like at Anfield but the guy had balls and got us playing. What he's been doing at Sunderland has been phenomenal.

He’s shown a world class level this year that’s has contributed massively and has been run into the ground.
I think he has had some moments, but not enough of them. And yes, he has been run into the ground physically and mentally. Too much responsibility in my opinion.

He has been passing sideways to a degree that would make Denilson/Elneny jealous, he gives away the ball to a shocking degree and he doesn't defend that well. Like what exactly does he provide to the team? The truth no one wants to admit is that he is a HUGE downgrade from youknowwho. And it is difficult to believe MLS is so bad as a midfielder that he cannot be an alternative to Zubimendi.

Why were his teammates consoling him? I’ve seen some people suggest it was because Gyökeres yelled at him for not making a pass?

How many times have fans said we don’t need Rice & Zubi in every game? Arteta has not taken the opportunity to rest him, and Rice too. Some games Rice Eze Kai/Ode would be an option, or Rice Nørgaard Eze. This is one area Pep does far better than Arteta, rotation. Would we have the injuries if players were rotated more? Timber has been ground into the turf, and now we’re suffering for it.

Have we paid 60mill for this guy just to instruct him to pass sidewards and backwards? If that was the case, I'm sure Jorginho could have done the same thing. Might as well brought Xhaka back.

He was absolute top quality until around February at which point he’d played virtually every minute of every meaningful game.

AM doesn’t understand what is required from that position anyway, they expect the 6 to be one of the main creative players in the team as well, often times blaming the guy in that position over the supposed creative players.

Imagine being in need of technical ability and then go on and sell Spain no 6 after only year which is usually adjustment period for foreign players.

Arsenal Quotes

When we won the league at Tottenham, they came back 2-2 in the last-minute of the game, and they're celebrating - because they're happy to draw against us, obviously. And I remember saying to Mauricio Tarricco who injured himself celebrating in front of me: "Do you realise we only need a point to be Champions?" And he was utterly shocked. So I said "Yes. Now watch as we're going to celebrate on your pitch. Bye bye!"
