I can’t wait to watch Rice play 8 for the rest of his career while Arsenal fans seethe but still have to praise him lmao.
I kind of get your assessment of Rice as an 8. If only he had more confidence in the final third he could be really great there

With everything we need to do in the summer. Spending so much on him is gonna take so much of the budget

I don’t understand - we NEED a midfielder this summer. Partey and Jorginho are off. We’d always have to spend. Are you saying you could do better than £51m on Zubimendi? Or are you just moaning because that’s what gets you hard?

You worry too much about 8 vs 6

Him and Rice will play close to each other and they compliment each other really well. The price is good. The only thing to not like about this is that he isn’t a forward.

True. I just worry our £100M player is going to be this weird versatile player.

Anyway, the tacticos on Twitter profiled Zubi as more of an 8 in our system so lets hope they're right.

Pure hopium, you’re never seeing Rice as a 6 again.

Offcourse we do. We also need wingers and strikers. How much do you think Arsenal will spend? If Zubi is 60 million release clause paid. Once again it confirms Arteta is gonna prioritise defensive players. Due to budget they will try go cheap on attacking players.

I really can see Jonathan David on free as a striker. Unless you expect Arsenal will buy 5 players for 60 million euros each. This tells me what he is prioritising

Zubi would be a good signing. I was skeptical of him in the past but he convinced me that he's good at the Euros.

I had started wish listing him before starting to push for MLS to play there. I think that's still a good idea, but it's understandable that you wouldn't want to lean too heavily on him so early on. Zubi becomes a Partey/Jorginho upgrade and MLS replaces them, basically.
MLS has like 4 career starts. People talking about using him as a primary/secondary option in LCM or DM are getting ahead of themselves. A title challenging team shouldn't have a young talent, no matter how precocious in an important role.

Let him grow and get his minutes and he will be in a better place to take on more responsibility as he gets older. He's 18 after all.
