I remember people telling me that this club that employs Thomas Partey needed to sign Maddison. These injury prone players will always let you down.
If you sign injury prone players you have to have a deep and versatile squad. A bit like Arteta is building and Pep and Klopp have built at their clubs. Until we have that excellent squad depth I'd rather we steer clear of them.

Always makes me laugh when Sp**s fans quote this these days...

...you haven't won a trophy since 2009, what "high" are you exactly aiming for at this point and where is that said glory

The shine will come off pretty quickly when they start losing a few games in a row. Remember when Conte was successful there at first he was treated like a mastermind with his defensive tactics. Ange is just at the other end of the spectrum with his all attacking style. But the result will be the same.
The media are very quick to start going with a Spud renaissance narrative. I think it's part of the reason their supporters are so delusional. When it inevitably falls apart, there will be excuse making and a "next year" narrative. Lather, rinse, repeat.

But i thought Mik was 100 percent excused of accountability whenever more than 2 of his starting 11 were out; you mean other managers are expected to get results and make tactical changes to deal with injury?

Now as they collapse which they were going to do even if fully fit, the media will blame it on injuries whereas some teams can lose the best defender in the world and their starting number 9 and be called bottlers for losing the title to City.

Incidentally, just realized from the post in the previous page from @Riou quoting Bill Nicholson that the man lived until late October 2004.

This means that, unlike many Sp**s supporter alive today, he at least witnessed another title being won at White Hart Lane before his passing.

He led a blessed life did Old Bill

We all know you're going to make this excuse for Ange as they start sliding down the table, just like you keep making excuses for Ten Hag. So why even bother making this post?

Finally got a couple of injuries boo hoo. They’ve played the same XI every week so far. They were going to collapse whatever, but it will just be quicker now as their squad is dog ****.

Van de ven and Maddison out, meanwhile we have been missing Partey, Timber, Jesus for almost the whole season, not to mention Ødegaard and Martinelli. Hasn’t our front 3 played like 1 game together so far?? And we are 2 points off this all conquering Sp**s side having had a much tougher schedule 😂😂

Funny thing was I heard several pundits in the preview podcasts for the weekend having Sp**s beat Wolves away. Saying 2-0 to Sp**s. I'd be surprised if Wolves don't get at least a draw out of the game tomorrow. Sp**s have been getting quite a few results by hock and by crock. Cannot see them not falling behind now.

Arsenal Quotes

I'm prepared to be committed to the club at least until we go into the new stadium. For me, it’s important that the club goes in there and that I make sure the team are at a very good level. After that, whether it’s me or someone else, the club will be able to compete at the highest level. But for me to run away now would not be fair.
