When Ange says the intensity and duels werent there in the second half, he is telling us exactly what he wants for 95 minutes. Running and pressing.

This is great and all, but tactically he just comes across as...

That InvertTheWing guy is a parody of these tactics social media accounts isn't he? He's quite good at it.

No way I can believe he means the stuff he says

Yeah, this is pretty clearly a blend of a parody account and an engagement farming account from people who don't get that it's a parody.

He usually does a pretty good job of coming down just barely on the believable side of ridiculous but he's slipped up a few times and made it pretty obvious that the whole schtick is BS.

That is his main form of attack and defence, constantly swarming the opposition and creating high turnovers from their lost balls. He said last season that his teams are usually the fittest in the league as well.

So get better inhalers Ange, if you want to play that way for 95 minutes every game for the next 8 months.
He has never had a team where he has had to keep so many previous players as Sp**s. I agree when you say he wants them to run and press for 90 minutes in a similar fashion to the first 5 minutes.

Every club he has been at previously, I don't think I am exaggerating, when saying at least 75%-80% of players are gone by the second year. Doesn't matter if they are renowned international players, if they can'y play how he wants (either physically incapable or don't have the attacking mentality) they are gone. Easier to do that in lesser leagues but can't get that turnover in the premier league.

People forgot he brought in 15 new players to celtic in the first year alone and then a bunch more in the second year; it was thought by celtic fans to be a disadvantage but actually critical for him.

I admit the inflexibility is not working for him in the premier league

It would be interesting to see if he is able to replicate that sort of turnover at Sp**s. In fact I'd like to see him get the opportunity to get that right.

The issue I had with Sp**s was their tempo control. The way in which I see them deal with this is through their control in games. Getting the advantage with their intense start, and then managing the game with their press and attacking shape thereafter.

They use their intensity to defend in fact, keep teams away from their goal by attacking you. And this is where I want to see more of his players... and whether he can pull this off.

I think Ange needs to modify his current approach more, if he wants to really compete with the top 3. That approach is to model Sp**s more on Liverpool 19/20. Intense to start with yes, but then get the advantage and sit back and defend more, and choose moments thereafter. I saw a bit of that against Brighton, but good tactics got in behind them.

My estimation of Ange has gone up a bit, he's done well so far this season. Still not top top like the top 3 managers, but definitely better. Lets see how much higher he can go.

This is the problem with joining Sp**s. You have a **** time, your mental health is in the gutter, and by the time you actually leave you're forced to wash off the stink of being associated with them.

Even then, that period in your career gets bantered to death and you get treated like a piece of meat by the club's management. It's bad enough you're asked to watch them live. Imagine paying for your own ticket to sit next to a bum like Sandro 'beast' Raneire. Could never be me.

Arsenal Quotes

I believe one of the best things about managing people is that we can influence lives in a positive way. That’s basically what a manager is about. When I can do that, I am very happy.
