I'm not sure it is unlucky. If you play expecting your CBs to run the length of the pitch to counter long balls, it's bound to happen. There's more chance of a muscle injury when sprinting.

Hard to tell if some players have given up on Angeball or if they are just on the verge of getting injured again, makeshift backline shouldn't really look worse with every game they play.
