this will be the target this jan. we will make a 20 mil bid by the middle of the month, "prepare" our next bid for a week after, send it out, 22 mil and 3 mill add-ons. Then on the deadline go with the final offer, 25 mil. They will say no, we will say "we tried, it's impossible to get anything done"

If they’re wanting to tie him down sounds like they’ll probably let him leave if they can’t.

I wouldn’t say no to Cunha if it was a “good deal” but it already seems like it won’t be and I cba with it. He’s a pure squad player, not a needle mover and we shouldn’t spend big money on players like that now, I’d much rather keep an eye on the summer.

Probably be £70M.

They’re trying to include a release clause in the new deal, so they’re probably hoping he’ll hold out until the summer.

This is definitely an Arteta signing though.

Mid 20’s, 6ft, technically sound all rounder. PL experience.

He’d be a brilliant signing for virtually every PL club other than us imo.

What strain are you guys smoking on?

Sounds like this will happen if we’re actually interested.

Lmao they can suck a big one if that’s what they want

I think that'll be the case.

They signed him for £42M, he's got 2 and a bit years left on his deal. So something like £55M with add ons is probably realistic if he rejects the new deal.

We've picked a good time to do this with him being suspended for a couple of games..

It's funny how we haven’t invested much in our attack. Our attacking options need a refresh, and Cunha could be a good choice, even if we have to overpay. However, people always talk about Isak.
In defense, Arteta has already signed White (58.5m), Gabriel (26m), Calafiori (45m), Tomiyasu (20m), Kiwior (20m), Zinchenko (35m), and Timber (40m).
Now, it’s time to invest in our attack. We need three more players in this area, not just one (Isak)

We also have a habit of going for players that are hard to sign in January (for one reason or another). I dont hold out much hope for this one.

We need them to win on Sunday so they go 4 points clear of relegation. Not that they are involved in relegation. They are way better than bottom 3

When you think about it, the spread of investment across the pitch makes complete sense.

Arteta didn't keep any of the goalkeepers or defenders he inherited, except Saliba. He didn't keep any of the midfielders, but he retained two attackers.

So if you need two players per position to complete a squad - that's 10 positions you need to sign across the backline. 6 in midfield, 6 in the attack.

The largest investment will always be across the defence, assuming you prioritise each part of the pitch equally, given the number of positions you need to fill. We didn't keep a single midfielder from Emery's days, so we had to sign 6 midfielders. We did keep two attackers, though, so we didn't spend as much on the attack when we overturned the squad.

We do need to spend money on attacking players now, but the relative underinvestment makes complete sense.

Look at the first goal, the opponents are attacking. When we're winning games and we let teams onto us, this is the kind of thing they should be afraid of but they never are because we waste every transition opportunity in the name of control. Gittens can score goals without space too. Liverpool have players who can exploit space like this. It's the one thing we're missing.

That's more instruction than ability though? Both Martinelli and Saka are technically capable and athletic enough to do what Gittens does in that video, but they're busy sticking closely to their defensive assignments and as you said keep control of the game.

I don't disagree that you need more of that, but I don't think you fix it with an individual player; he'd just be told to not do stuff like that, like Martinelli was.

...and then He woke up sweating !!!
if normal window it should be aroun 50M but it's january Wolves gonna likely ask more than 60M it'll be up to Cunha if he force the move maybe the price will go down.

If we are in for him I think there is a high chance he does try to force Wolves’ hand.

Arsenal Quotes

When I am asked why I stayed at Arsenal so long.. my answer is simple; I never wanted to be anywhere else. I could have earned a lot more elsewhere, but that wouldn't compensate for all the good years at Highbury.
