I think its because clubs know he's out of favour and therefore can lowball us. Its pretty obvs he wont play for us unless we're desperate given he didnt even make the Carabao cup squad.
Loan with option to buy or 1yr extension to loan him works for us. He is at least a £30m asset, £40m when Covid over & clubs have money again. he's captain of French U21 the best talent producing nation in football at the moment and made the French national team sqaud ahead of Aouar last year. It is quite stupid that we finished last season with two players on the naughty step and we're starting a new season with the same two players still on the naughty step. Like we made redundancies to supposedly streamline the organisation and make it more efficient. You know what's hella inefficient? Having two high-earning (one extremely high-earning) employees who do zero work for you.

Dont register him, I'd do the same with Özil! Arteta has no plan to play them so leave them at home with no football for a year, see what that does for Guens career! Yes we have to pay their wages but we have to do that anyway, at least it would free up 2 non HG spaces.
