Max Dowman: Mad Max

Genuinely think he is our most creative player already. Which is a really bad indictment on the current first team tbh

It honestly feels like right now our best option is Dowman on the LW, or alternatively put the more experienced Saka there and put Dowman on the RW, he's honestly a joy to watch and clearly one of the most creative players in the team, even at 15.

Yeah our RW options are starting to get a bit ridiculous. Saka, Ethan, Max and Noni all give something that our left side doesn’t imo. I’d rather play my two best wingers than force my best right footer into the lineup.

I’ve touched on this before but (before we signed Noni) I’d have moved Saka to the LW as I don’t think his ability to impact the game would be worse, just different. It might even be better without Ode clogging things up and the license to move into the left half space.

Max is the embodiment of what we want to see from our team. He's fearless and makes football look joyful.

Does someone like him have agent at his age it's allowed? Or his parents negotiate? 🤣

Thought Dowman looked a bit meh against Sp**s.

I'm sick of playing young talented players on the wing when it's not really what they're suited to.

Grow a pair and let him learn as a dangerous number 10.

I think RW his best position? If we can coach him to to be LW it'll be good because we have zero talents there

Ffs all hale end talents are AM 😭 we have to coach them other positions.
Not all - MLS for example, is a DM/CM!

But yeah, most of our better talents are concentrated towards midfield. Even Andre Annous - a CF by trade nowadays - was originally an AM who played on the wing! We do have a couple really promising wingers on the come-up. Brando Bailey-Joseph (both wings but mainly LW), Kyran Thompson (RW) and Louis Zecevic-John (Both wings AND upfront) should go on tour next season.

I'll also say the next group of defenders in Hale End are probably the most promising we've had since Ballard and McGuinness.

well it's not bad position but with Ethan and now dowman there no other space for another big AM talent hopefully this Andre Annous guy turn out to be good CF i like what i saw when he played against newcastle good body strength.

Interesting read, could explain why Max doesn’t seem out of place against PL opposition.

I do think for a while that since we’ve seen Pedri, Gavi and then Yamal absolutely smoke world football that the sport might start skewing younger.

Not sure if it’s backed up by science but feel players are done at the top much younger now apart from exceptions like Lewa of course.

What? He was easily our most dangerous player when he came on. Got the ball 2-3 times in a row, skinned his man and made the correct pass.

His best position is attacking midfield (basically Ødegaard's spot).
Ødegaard doesn't really play like an attacking midfielder, he doesn't look dynamic on the half turn, not great at beating players one v one and his movement and shooting ability are all questionable too. I don't know if it's Arteta's system or Ødegaard is just a control freak but it looks like he tries to do the job of the 6, 8 and 10 most times.

Arsenal Quotes

I want a fan to wake up in the morning and say, “Arsenal are playing today, I’m going to have a good time.” That guy starts his day off by thinking that something good is going to happen to him. And to do that, big clubs like Arsenal have to have the ambition to play spectacularly. Of shared happiness.
