Max Dowman: Mad Max

This kid is the real deal and he'll change games for us this season coming off the bench. He has electric feet and a brain to match. His ball control / change of direction at pace and in tight is insane. He's gonna cut back, get past 2 players and hammer the ball in the top corner in a game real soon. Max Wowman.

Think it could be a smart move to give him minutes at home games first. Full support for the crowd, cheering on you on every contact. While PL fans while whistle him on every contact and the defenders will be even more aggressive in duels, because they will get the reaction from the fans.

I’m glad he didn’t take the penalty. If he’d missed or keeper saved, it might’ve hung heavy on him. A chance to be youngest top division scorer ever, missed. He may still do that anyway, but let him do it from open play.
even if gyokeres already scored 1000000 goals on the pitch then he still should take penalty, there is hierarchy for take penalty especially gyokeres so experienced took penalty at ucl, league and national team

dowman can take penalty when he become 20yo not now, he still has long career

Yep, this is the thing with Arteta, he doesn't give pity or feel good minutes he obviously felt Dowman deserved those minutes on merit. You treat him as such as a teammate.

Zubi and Rice were looking for him a lot out on the right, and I've no issue with that as you want him to get some touches and find his feet on his debut. When it comes to goal scoring chances though you should play properly and Rice didn't in that situation.

Think it also helps that Dowman has an obscene first touch, if you're a midfielder and you know your 40 yard pass will be taken perfectly every time it makes your decision rather easy.

Wondering whether teenagers going into first team football earlier might become more frequent . Several 17 year olds have now made their debuts in European leagues. Seems like the kids these days are much better equipped mentally to handle the pressure.
I think it has to do with improved fitness and nutrition regimens as well. Mid-teen footballers look a lot more robust than those of years past.

Examples like Dowman or Yamal where the player has all three aspects (mental, technical, physical) at a first team level will always be exceptions though, that's special.

It's a good thing thing we didnt close Hale End like @Rasmi suggested, because we'd never play any youth players at all. Now we've got a ****ing 15 year old wonderkid getting half an hour in a PL game.
He thought Nwaneri wouldn't sign and Dowman wouldn't even play a single minute in the league this season. Typical Rasmi to be so spectacularly wrong.
I still don’t expect him to play a single minute in the PL this season. He’s 15

As for Dowman, we obviously have to be quite careful with him but the sky is the limit. Beggars belief what he is already doing at just 15.

I am mesmerized by the way he dribbles. He is in complete control while his body is straight upward and he doesn’t look down. Rather he looks up and around him all the time. And even when he changes direction quickly he stil doesn’t look at the ball. I think that is what makes him so difficult to stop, the defender cannot pick up any cues on what direction he’s going to go.

Can see him getting known as Max Diveman by the time Arteta is done with him. Subbed on with the clear intent to throw himself to the floor on the box and see what happens.

Obviously super talent but today subbing him on was absolutely wrong move. Arteta is strange you got Ethan who more ready then him.

Max couldn't do anything in 10 minutes he just kept losing the ball and it's crazy you play him at anfield chasing the game.

AM hates when Artetea both plays and doesn't plan youth

We were desperate and went for the unpredictability factor.
Arteta hate youth is some voices in AM heads that will never go away. But it was wrong move to bring him on Sunday imo Ethan was more wise choice even if it's not his best position

Arsenal Quotes

My first ever football memory was Charlie George's double winning goal in 71. After that game; I just became an Arsenal fan.
