Max Dowman: Mad Max

Another record. Youngest u21s scorer

Was some game overall - came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2. Dowman with a superb goal. I feel like this game was prep for Port Vale. Harriman-Annous came out of this game with a ton of credit too, he does a lot of hard yards with little shrift but today with Dowman behind him was very effective consistently throughout the match. I hope Harriman-Annous is considered for Port Vale aswell.

It's a shame Ife Ibrahim has so much bodies ahead of him and Brando Bailey-Joseph is not an U21 yet.

Tbf its just stupid what he's doing at this age, the only danger here is to expect this level from all young "talents" because what he's doing is very much not normal.
He just looks a wonderful talent, hope above all he's just enjoying life and playing football at elite pro level he just oozes quality.

I know he's a fan and his family are Arsenal fans also.

He's 15 and to be doing what he is it's very hard not to be excited. I think he will start on Wednesday against Port Vale and totally agree with how he's being integrated so far, elite technique.

Played a nice one touch pass for Gyökeres without thinking while the senior players play with one eye towards the bench waiting for instructions.

We have to fire Mik before he ruins another potential superstar.

He should leave, Arteta will ruin his career. Already training himself to pass the ball backwards as the first instinct.

Wasn’t particularly bright today but he’s so obviously going to make it, we’re basically just waiting for him to get his grown man speed/strength at this point.

I thought he should have started the game. Saka can overcome rust by training, no need to ever play him in league and FA cup games anymore, especially with the two most recent injuries. Maybe in the latter stages of the FA cup.

As I alluded to in the match thread, that pass to Gyok which he probably should have scored from might have been the best pass to him since he got here and it came from a 15 year old first time at a tough angle. I found myself equal parts delighted with Dowman's vision, timing and execution and disgusted with the fact that nobody else seems to try to play balls like that to him consistently.

Crazy to think that our world class talent at 15 year of age is only capable of doing this instead of this side passes 24/7

Watching him in these youth games is funny because you can tell he's literally coasting and still looks head and shoulders above. Same with Ethan. Just not being challenged enough - at least with Ethan now he's hitting his first plateau in a sense.

Myles was probably one of the few that would turn up on smoke for no reason but now he looks like the one taking it a little easy these days!

Yeah I watched a clip a few weeks ago and it’s so easy to tell when a player is coasting.

It’s interesting as well because people would expect his stats to reflect how easy it is for him but it’s not that simple at all, people who play ball know that some can’t lock in and play their best when they aren’t challenged whereas others have no problem stat padding

Makes you think what was going through a prime Messi's head when Osasuna turned up to Camp Nou. Was he pissed off if he didn't get a hat-trick?

Feel like Leo was never hungry to score like that, especially when Barca were coasting he’d start giving away penalties and trying to gift guys hat tricks

He’s had something like 7 career assist hatricks.

Arsenal Quotes

I'm prepared to be committed to the club at least until we go into the new stadium. For me, it’s important that the club goes in there and that I make sure the team are at a very good level. After that, whether it’s me or someone else, the club will be able to compete at the highest level. But for me to run away now would not be fair.
