Pretty strong claim. I’d be surprised if he’s used as a regular starter yet regardless of Saka’s availability. Arteta will still want to protect him, and I make him right. Madueke barely played at that WC and whether you rate him or not, he’s far more prepared for this level.

I was talking ability wise (a dig at Madueke more than anything).
He needs to be protected and that trumps short term outcomes.

Why isn't he considered for the left? Saka broke through there before switching. Seems to me receiving on a different foot would be a pretty good way to broaden your development, and he doesn't look to be an outstanding finisher yet so hardly missing out cutting inside.

If he's as good as prophesied one of them will be making the switch sooner or later anway.

Kid is unbelievable but people were talking about him as if he was the second coming of Messi, don't see the reason to overhype him so much. Does no one any favours. He looks good for his age but thats about it for me.

if we can't get excited over a academy kid looking elite and doing the job on the pitch I don't think there's much reason to watch football.

It's kind of wild and almost a shame that the biggest talents to come out of our academy in recent times in Saka, MLS, Nwaneri and Dowman are all left-footed.

He also is quite clearly the biggest pure talent the academy has produced in at least 20 years so it's kinda wild that anyone would not be excited watching him.

Top 3 best kid I’ve seen at Arsenal in terms of initial potential you see. Anelka was the best, Cesc was second. Maybe Cole should be 3rd because he looked great at everything.

The club should be trying to develop Dowman in the middle. So he can work on his passing and decision making. That's where he has the most potential. He is not really a Yamal. Who is clearly a winger. Dowman more of an attacking mid. Kinda like how Iniesta could play on the wing, but no one ever called him a winger.

I don't know if he has the same explosiveness and agility as prime kaka. But we'll see how he continues to physically develop.

Kaka made his senior debut for Sao Paulo at 19. That's 3 years away for Max. Kaka didn't explode in Europe until he was 21. That's 5(!) years away for Max.

Point is, there is plenty of time for Max to grow into his body and develop those physical attributes. He's clearly still growing in height, which would likely have an impact on this.

Max will be a problem sooner than you might think.

I used to live in the suburbs of east London for primary school, we played these lot quite often. Pretty sure we slapped them silly every time.
