I would be highly in favor of this. Getting a quality center back is a lot better than letting him walk for free in the summer. Of course I'm always skeptical of swap deals because they rarely happen, but then there was last January...

He’s hardly played this season due to the acquisition of Bonucci. A lot of the Juve fans would prefer that he starts as Bonucci has been underperforming and Benatia hardly put a foot wrong last season.
Benatia is better than all of our defensive options and would be a quality signing.
The best thing we could do is give them Ramsey now and get Benatia on loan with an option to purchase in the summer.

Possibly but I doubt Juve would be willing to let him leave as part of the deal for nothing. Although Benatia could be the one to push the move as he’s stated his frustration about being left on the bench.
Juve however are reluctant to let him leave during this window. On the other hand, the Mkhitaryan transfer both the manager and the player wanted out plus Sanchez wanted to leave aswell.
Emery has made it known to everyone that we’re broke. The better deal for Juve would be if they loan us Benatia and get a fee for him in the summer. They’ll probably get De Ligt in the summer.
Is he better than what we have? Is the question that needs to be asked. If he’s good enough to displace either Sokratis or Mustafi then the first XI quality goes up, if he’s better than Kos or Mavro then we’re at less risk of stumbling through lack of depth.
At this point i don’t care if it’s just a loan for half a season, we just need a CB who’s better than at least two of our current four available ones.
We might have four fit CBs now, but that is gonna change at some point. You don’t want to find yourself in a game which determines whether or not you get CL football and suddenly find that you’re relying on Mavro and Kos, no disrespect to them.
