On the contrary I completely disagree with that premise. The quality of the PL has never been higher - there are 9 PL teams in Europe, the English teams are looking a level above in the CL. The likes of Bournemouth, Palace are playing amazing football.

Yeah. It's always a hard question to approach imo, because the PL is absolutely dominant relative to the rest of Europe undoubtedly, however it does "feel" the level of the teams is a bit lower than a few years ago.

I'd actually say this season has been an improvement on last season, where us, City, United and Sp**s were all very poor. 24/25 was a low point for me, which Carra doesn't like mentioning. No title race or relegation battle.

Yeah every matchday thread on here people talk about even teams like Burnley to be a potential bananaskins.

There is quality in every corner of the league and these hypermodern managers are tricky to deal with.

His obsession with long throws is weird.

It’s not like short throw ins had any real impact on the game. What coaches have done is essentially took a non threatening aspect of football at turned it into an attacking situation.

Previously Wenger said it was a disadvantage for the attacking team and he was considering changing them to a freekick of some sort. Now they've become that anyway inadvertently. I hope we buy a Rory Delap regen to piss everyone off.

I think what Carra is saying or at least what the reality is, is that City and Liverpool are below the peak City/Liverpool teams that would regularly push close to 100 points. That being said, there's an argument that those teams wouldn't hit those totals nowadays due to how much more competitive the mid table PL teams are.

So yeah at the top end I agree there's been a regression but a huge explosion in quality in the mid to lower end has offset that.

It will always amaze me how fondly Liverpool fans think of that period were they got denied multiple titles because of a cheating oil club

Liverpool fans should despise everything Man City represents, but they love to cuddle up to them

Shocking how a club with such an illustrious history & pedigree enjoys being cuckolded by a club whose history is every bit as manufactured as that of Chelsea.

I mentioned it a couple pages back but the way we're catching strays on this long throw stuff is just insane and is probably the best Rosetta Stone into understanding the English media bias right now.

Like, we've never scored a goal on a long throw. Our fullbacks actually kind of suck at them. We're just one of many teams that started doing them around the same time. Brentford are the team that's turned these into a weapon for themselves.

We're not even good at long throws so I don't know what's going on with this article.

It feels like significant numbers in the media want to ban or at least downplay any facet of the game we're good at.

Next they'll be crying how unfair it is that we don't concede goals 😂

There's a massive amount of disrespect to the club, manager and players with this sort of stuff which they don't deserve considering the standard they're performing at at the moment.

Good. Here's hoping we can use this as ammunition to galvanize our spirits & give the lads the impetus needed to keep the momentum going in our march to glory.
