I saw the video of that event, when I find it again I'll post it

a couple was hounded by 15 or so

It’s actually very weird what they’re doing. I get it’s for clicks and stuff but some of the stuff I’m hearing is sinister.

My friend is a Liverpool fan and he reckons it’s partly because Arsenal have a pretty modern, metropolitan fanbase, and not as many of the fans are traditional footy lads (pints at the boozer, chanting ect) which makes them an easy target for ridicule, especially for the northern clubs.

What I would say is this a very new phenomenon. My dad said back in the day Arsenal fans always had a good reputation (non violent, easy to get on with ect).

I wonder what the club think about this coordinated attack on us. It feels bigger than just fan banter now, almost something sinister is going on.

Media talking actively about how “everyone” hates Arsenal and the fans. Pretty unprecedented and almost an incitement of further abuse. I’ve heard stories of Arsenal fans walking the streets in their colours being intimidated.
Said it before, I’ll say it again: Arteta needs to get his siege mentality on for next season. They want to turn the whole world against us? Fine. We’ll be that. Hopefully he can tap into that a bit to give us that mental edge.

The club acutely are aware of the power of media narratives - look at how we were refereed in the CL Final, that ref clearly had allowed the narrative of Arsenal 'dark arts' impact his decision making. There's a reason why Josh Kroenke went on the Overlap. Has an owner ever done that before?

The gegenpress from the media is becoming so visceral that it's actually starting to seep into how we are refereed. I think we're going to cop it next season from PGMOL.

@MikelHadADream we even had official club accounts throw shade at us after losing the CL Final, like that's actually classless and graceless. I expect that from fans, it's part of the banter but for official social media accounts of various clubs? That's crossing the line.

Yeah. I wasn’t overly surprised about Chelsea doing. It’s kind of on brand for them.

But palace? After Eze missed a pen, then guy that brought them their first every trophy. Very very strange. I think people at Arsenal will have been very disappointed in that one.

I think it's becoming obvious that they're priming the media, opposition fans and subconciously everyone, so this means that this pressure will only intensify even more.

When England inevitably fails at World Cup yet again, I am sure they will spin it to ensure that Rice, Saka and Eze are main culprits and the booing will continue throughout next season.

As @Gooner Zig posted above, the immediate most likely development will be the heavily handed approach of PGMOL to us again.

I'm hoping all our boys do well and Kane has the mother of all stinkers. If that doesn't distract the media then nothing will. PGMOL will be powerless if we improve our attack and I hope all the PL refs do so badly that FIFA intervenes. All of that suits Arsenal

Still, England will not win the WC, so regardless of performance, Saka will be booed with that chant.

As for Kane, you have to think who does the media is priming for an attack. I dont think they will attack Kane even if he scores an own goal, after all they did zero about him when he skied the penalty against France. Same with Rooney getting a red card vs Portugal.

The media won't even care that our players played the most number of games. They'll still blame them if England mess up.

By the end of their World Cup campaign, our players will be dead on their feet. They had a really long season fighting on multiple fronts. Realistically they won't be available from a fitness perspective for probably the first 5 or so games of the next season. That's partly why the transfer market is so important for us.

I'm particularly worried about Rice. He really needs a serious rest after the World Cup.

Kane deserved the Beckham treatment but you're right about him and I'm now annoyed that Foden and Maguire are absent to take some heat. All eyes on Anthony Gordon who plays for the second biggest club in the world 🙏

Arsenal Quotes

What is unbelievable is that I am in a position where people reproach me for making a profit. The people who lose money – nobody says a word.
