Holes Wenger thought were a good idea to fill with bums like Almunia, Eboue, Coquelin, Xhaka, Mustafi, Squillaci, Stepanovs, Flamini etc.

The holes weren’t just personnel. His tactics were naive and he couldn’t manage a defence.
Rather harsh on Eboue and Xhaka.

What a man, what a manager.

Magnanimous towards Arteta, even though he must be pig sick at having to watch Arteta be able to poach City players, instead of having City poach his, and to watch the fans giving whole heartedly and fanatical support even though he hasn’t got top 4 once yet at his 4th attempt.
I honestly think Wenger wishes the club all the best. Only spiteful buffoons could think otherwise.

Having watched him extensively on BEin with Richard Keys/Grey, with Keys in particular attempting to bait him into Arteta criticism repeatedly, you can tell he's had to swallow his Tongue once or twice, particularly when the issue of the financial backing Tets has gotten V him has been brought up. Even him stating the objective fact that "alot of money has been spent" led to a rabid fan response, so he likely knows he's walking on eggshells.

His love of the club shines through though. Watches every game, knows every player (many of them he's known since they were young academy lads of course). Heck he himself signed the current manager/academy manager ffs. The DT'rs who were saying he wants the club to fail post his reign were/are living in looloo land, could tell he was very saddened by the back to back 8th seasons. Nothing would bring him more joy than a title win, none of that Graham going to Sp**s to prove them wrong stuff.
The man is class and would never say anything other than wishing Arsenal the best. He loved this club for so long, it’s in his blood however badly he was treated by the fans.

I'm sure Arsène is a bigger and classier man than this and he wouldn't be feeling like that.

'Poaching' City players? This is another in a long and ever growing list of twisted dung

Feel too much has been made of Wenger's title remark, a bit surprised the journos have taken that and ran with it.

Great stick to beat Arteta with when Arsenal are out the title race in October though, Wenger's done it again 🥰

Wenger would love to manage this lot. There aren't any Özil's, Cazorla's or Alexis's, but he'd definitely see it as an opportunity to redeem his failure with that last good side he had

Wenger would love to manage anyone tbf. He earned the right to destroy the club and build his own dream team after the unbeaten season but decided to think on the long term benefits to the club instead and play the league in hard mode to keep finances healthy

It's unfortunate that we just shat on him deciding to deplete his warchest in 3 years, but I doubt he's that surprised.

He's right this side has the potential to challenge. I think it all depends on City tho. If they're getting 90 plus points it'll be impossible to compete. Less than that and we can push them.

I'm sure Wenger has some way of doing catharsis after witnessing his beloved Arsenal turn into just another mediocre club. A Manchester City wannabe that would happily whore itself to a billionaire willing to fund a soulless process.

Unfortunately for the world this method is not ranting on an internet forum

You have to rate Wenger's final act. Kept all our crap players in long contracts and took us out the top 4 so the club had to do something drastic. He knew it was the only way to get them to move with the times. What a sacrifice :(

He wished Arsenal the best because this is obviously coming from his heart. I mean what do you think is his true thoughts then? Cursing the club to crash and burn because we did him injustice? Come on

His true thoughts have always been the same, to want nothing but the best for the club he loves. But that doesn't mean a part of him isn't hurt by the abuse he received. You think he's a machine? He's just a man, albeit an incredible example of one.

He got to go on his own terms, with his pride Intact. Not a bad way to go if the alternative is the sack

Thank you Wenger, miss you lot you splendid human being. Not overly fond of all your quotes tho that’s being flung about on here. Trax have them all collected over his bed tho I bet

There isn’t a single post on AM that doesn’t love, respect and adore what Wenger did for this institution. Very strange that that narrative slides in from time to time
